Today was finally the big day! Despite a changed flight and a delayed arrival, our little Ellie is finally here! I was so worried that she would be stressed and exhausted after her trip here, but she has been just perfect! She didn't bark or whine on the way home, just sat in my lap and enjoyed the scenery. After getting home she had all sorts of fun exploring our kitchen and climbing all over us.
After about half an hour with us in the kitchen, I removed the baby gates and let her explore the rest of the downstairs. Yuki was glued to her, sniffing her like she had been dipped in bacon. She didn't mind, though, and soon began to romp around with him. She even likes to try to eat his tail, which is oh-so-cute! He doesn't quite know what to make of her yet, though.
Her favorite spots so far, not surprisingly, are areas where she can kind of hide and have some alone time. In the kitchen this means being smooshed between the baby stroller and the counter. In the living room she takes up residence around the Pack 'n Play.
I'm so glad I took the plunge and brought her into our family. I know I'm going to lose sleep (those potty breaks in the middle of the night are rough!) and she'll probably chew up more than one thing that she's not supposed to, but I also know that she's going to fit right in with us. I can't wait to get her into puppy classes in a month or so!
I'm really looking forward to seeing what adventures she leads us on. She's such a sweet little girl!

Thanks, everyone! Our first night went well (not even 1 whimper even though she was in her crate in the kitchen) and so far no potty accidents. Well, she did pee once in her crate, but that was my fault. I wish I could get a good picture of her playing, but the moment I get the camera she stops and stares.
Right now she's attempting to kill Yuki's Kong Wubba. It is so cute, but the moment I even move to stand up she stops and looks at me. And even if I did get up, I'd hear that adorable *thump-a-thump-a-thump* as she gallops along behind me. I'm determined to get a play-time picture soon, though!
She is adorable! Love the pictures. They grow up too fast!
