I've got Duncan!!!!!!!!! The Ford County Humane Society named him, I didn't. I'm thinking about calling him "Dooley," as he's got Pembroke face, head, and skeletal structure, but he also has Cardi "turkey toes" and body size -- a bit
large-boned, but light weight. He's adorable, sweet, loveable, friendly, inquisitive, playful, and everything anyone would want!
He slept all the way in the 2-hour car ride last night -- even snored! When I introduced him to my other Corgis, it wasn't good at first, and I thought "Oh, no! I'm not going to get any sleep tonight!" It was late when I got back and only had an hour for "socialization" before bed.
He's not crate trained, except he does not mind going in to eat -- no fights that way over food. However, he has a quirk regarding food -- he'll eat his kibbles, then let me know he wants out, I'll open the crate for him to be "excused from the table," then he turns around and grabs his treat out of his bowl that was with the kibbles and carries it around the house "strutting" until he finds a private place to eat it! It's so funny.
Duncan/Dooley does not like flashes of light, i.e., lightening or cameras, so that is why the pics are a bit fuzzy. I had to do stills on my DVD camcorder with no flash, and snap the button real quick as he knew what I was doing with that "thing" up to my face and wanted no part of it. After he realized no flash, he calmed down a bit.
He slept well most of the night until lightening struck and presented itself as strobe lights in the house. Then he got on the bed and "cuddled" until it was over. His place of choice seemed to be on the floor by the bed where he could get the draft of the AC vent that goes underneath the bed -- that would be where I'd want to sleep if I had that much hair all over my body, too!
This morning when putting all out in backyard to go potty, he peed quickly. I went inside to make coffee but could hear him "whimpering." As it was raining (and had been all night) I didn't want to leave all of them out there very long, so I brought them all back in, unfortunately too soon -- oops! yes, poops!
Afterwards, it was play time! Yay, all three "little ones" got along very well and ran circles chasing each other throughout the house! The only one who didn't join in was Topaz, my oldest. She was very content just to lay at my feet and watch.
So far, things are running smooth -- we'll see how much destruction there is when I get home at lunch -- oh, the saga continues!
