So Hubby has started this thing with Logan that whenever we are getting ice out of the frig door Logan comes over for an ice cube.  Hubby tells Logan they are "popsicles".  Logan likes them even even though they are plain-flavored.  Last night Twinkie saw the commotion at the frig and got in line for a popsicle.   Logan got his and ran off with his treat.  Twinkie got hers, put it down at my feet and looked at me and said (telepathically), "This is NOT a popsicle.  It is an icecube,  What are you trying to pull?"  She did not eat it but guarded it so Logan could not have it.  I had to pick it up before it was a complete puddle.  I should know better than to try to pull one over on Her Highness.

haha I was silly enough to think that I was the only one to give my dog ice cubes. Chase also always runs to the kitchen when he hears the ice machine. I give him his ice cube and he eats it up. Funny thing though is he enjoys sliding it around on the floor and playing with it until he decides to eat it.
One day not long ago is was super hot out so we came in from playing to get a cold drink. I put a few ice cubes in the water bowl to cool it off. Not thinking about the fact that Chase loves to play with them.  A few minutes later I walk through the kitchen into a very cold puddle of water on the floor and every last ice cube stolen from the water bowl. Chase looks up at me and says "What?...Oh no mom, that definately wasn't me." with a very wet snout.
I love the frozen broth idea, I will have to try that. Not so sure about the bugs though...that may be too much for me to handle. lol
Any other frozen treat suggestions for this hot weather?

Dolly does the same thing as Logan! Grabs the cube and runs to her bed with it so she can enjoy it, and not share.

"Ice Treats" are the best! they're free and it is so fun to watch them hurry up and eat them before they melt.  My fridge always puts out little shavings, even if you want cubed only.  No ice shaving is too small for my corgis!  They gobble them up before I am even finished getting the amount I want in my glass.

I am not letting my boys read John's post about dead bugs in the ice cubes! LOL!!! Since Story is still clueless that there is flavored ice in the world, she is still completely entertained by plain (bug free) ice cubes. ^..^

We put drowned earthworms, dead bugs, or various compostibles in our ice cube treats.  They love 'em!

Just don't get your ice cube trays mixed up.

[Kids: do not try this at home.  Unless it's April 1.]

Have you tried chicken broth ice cubes? I haven't yet but maybe Twinkie would be forgiving for something as delicious as a chicken broth popsicle! ;-)

Seriously, don't tell Jake that there are flavored frozen treats... he loves ice cubes!
