What is the nastiest thing your dog has ever rolled in?

Well, since I live next to the beach, I'm taking advantage of it! Waffle loves to chase crabs the most. But, yesterday, he found something he loved even more than chasing crabs...

Oh god. What is that thing?! We went for a walk, and from a distance, it looked like a deflated beach ball. Oh, I wish it were a deflated beach ball. It was a dolphin head. It had been there quite a long time-- its eyes were missing and its blubber was stringy and seeping out of its eye-holes. Its jawbones stuck out every which way, had only a handful of teeth left, and apparently it was THE BEST THING EVER IN THE WHOLE WORLD EVER. Even better than hot dogs, or bothering the cat-- or squirrels! The. Best. Thing. Ever. His eyes lit up like it was Christmas, and he dipped a shoulder down to roll in it. So naturally, I freaked out and screamed "NO." and clapped my hands and looked confused and hoped *desperately* that he would listen to me and not give in to his excitement. To my extreme surprise, he obeyed, and instead settled for rolling next to the dolphin head. He rolled in the sand and surf for a good five minutes before he got up and frapped around the thing for an additional handful of minutes. My god, he was so excited. I am so, so glad he did not roll on it. Ew. That took some immense self control and respect for me, his Stupid Human Who Wouldn't Know the Holy Grail if I Ate Off of It for a Hundred Years. So, guys, has your doggy rolled (or almost rolled) in something unspeakably disgusting? Ugh, that dolphin head was so gross, I can't stop thinking about it.

Hilarious, but what a good boy! Not nearly as disgusting as the dolphin head, but there are owls that live in the arenas at the stable where I keep my horse. They're beautiful & help keep the mice population down. Unfortunately they leave the regurgitated bones/fur remains everywhere. Tegan finds them even when I don't see them & oh yeah, she LOVES to roll in them. Just grinds her face right into it.

*Squeee!* Your drawings are ADORABLE!
Nothing even comes close to being as gross as the dolphin head. Most of the time when he makes a joy-roll, I can't even tell what he's rolling in. Sometimes it's better not to know!

Nothing that quite compares to a dolphin head, but My princess managed to mind a dead slug and thought it was the best thing ever. she was so pleased with her self! meanwhile, my husband ended up late for work since he was the only one home when she came in with her new perfume!

I don't know *what* is in my fiancé's backyard but if we let her off the leash she seems to find the most disgusting smelling stuff and rolls in it. She did it a few weeks ago and did it again last night and stunk up the whole house so we had to hose her off outside.

We have two ponds and 40 acres, so EVERY time my husband takes Frosty out he comes back home covered in dead fish, dear poop, rabbit poop and every other thing that is totally gross he can possibly find. Then of course my husband is like hey, your dog rolled in something gross, you need to give him a bath. We have had multiple discussion with the result being: if you take the dog out of the fenced front yard, you are responsible for the consiquences. I heard my husband go outside the other day and give Frosty heck for getting him in trouble because when I came home, he was covered in poop again. He actually said to the dog "Way to go Frosty, now mom's all mad at me, what did you have to let her see the poop for?!" (like I could miss it, it was all over the top of his head!)

Adorable drawing!!! Great, or perhaps gross, story. Ella usually just tries to roll in "scents" in the yard, must be animal urine.

Great cartoons!

As I like to say about Corgis, "They will live like animals if you let them."

Deer droppings!! Orion was obsessed when he was 9-12 weeks old. Deer poop is definitely not as disgusting as a rancid dolphin head but still gross. He now knows its a big no-no and that mom gets mad when he does it, or maybe he just knows he's in for a bath if he does so I don't have to worry about deer poop rolls anymore (thank god!) I'm glad Waffle knows to listen to his mom!
