Hey everyone....

So after visiting the Phoenix,AZ pet expo, I filled out an app to become a proud owner of a corgi from the cactus corgi rescue...if everything goes as planned and she is officially part of the family, my one question is, should I worry about cropping her tail, or let it go? She has a really long tail, which doesn't bother me, but everyone I've talked to says crop it, although since she's already 2 yrs old, I don't wanna put her through that if I don't have to...any opinions?

Another vote for keeping the tail!!!
I highly doubt any vet would dock a tail on an adult dog unless it was terribly injured. If the tail isn't docked in the first few days it's there to stay.
Wait! Are corgis the new "it"breed? I would love to be on the cutting edge of something, just not this. Good lick Preston!

Potus has his tail- its illegal to dock them here in Australia. Keep the tail! It is so cute, especially when they fall asleep and their tails wags like mad! Embrace the tail :)

If it's going to be done, it has to be done by age 3-4 days! Nooo, enjoy that tail! Sidney has his and it's wonderful! And he'll stand out at corgi meetups. ;)

Congratulations on your impending adoption. You're starting a great adventure.  Vicki Combs, who runs Arizona Cactus Corgi Rescue is "aces" in my book.  I know you'll always be able to turn to her for advice.  Of course MyCorgi is a great source too.

As for the tail, I'm with the others, leave it be.  I like the traditional docked look of a Pembroke but it's great fun to see them with their lovely natural tail also.   Be sure to post pictures when you get your new friend home!

Keep the tail! My dear Penelope has hers and I love it when it wags when she's happy! She also likes to chase it, which is also another advantage for tailed corgis :) They will spend about 5 minutes just going around in circles chasing their tail, it's hilarious. There really is nothing wrong with corgis having their tails. My breeder just decided not to dock Penelope and her siblings. In my opinion, they look adorable with their tails!
Franklin chases his nubbin, his was cropped as a pup. Keeps him entertained for hours since he has no tail to catch! haha. I love his bunny butt, but it would be great to see a nice long tail wagging when he's happy! He's made up for it with a full body wag
Let it go. A Pembroke with a tail is very special and unique. Plus it won't make any difference, tail or no tail, about her personality and that's what really matters, doesn't it?

If you are good with it; I wouldn't worry what other people say.

Keep her tail. . :-)
cropping a tail at  2 yrs of age is a major surgery. Just let her have her beautiful tail
Should just leave her as she is.  It's not like it's any harm to her or your family.  I think some people are idiots and don't know what there talking about (the people saying you should cut it off even though she's already 2).  I could understand if it was a health issue or something but it's not and if she's happy with it and your ok with it then you should just leave it =D
