Before and After Grooming
The more and more I think about Tuckers grooming, the more I am convinced the groomer did not follow my directions to NOT trim Tucker. The part that is bugging me the most is his bunny butt. It just doesn't look right!!!
I have a before picture and an after video. The video shows up better than a picture does.

So this is totally bothering me now, and there isn't a thing I can do to change it. It really is so annoying when you put your trust into a groomer and they blow it!! I now have to wait for it to grow back, which is so hard to do, when I want it back the way its suppose to be now!! :(
Funny how I am regretting my decision to take him in and get rid of all those loose tufts, and I now miss them, I would love to have those back and have it right again. Next time I am just brushing him myself, even if it takes me triple the time it took the groomer.
My question is how long will it take for it to look normal again?
What are your thoughts on what the groomer did to his bunny butt?

My biggest gripe is that the groomer did NOT listen to what I told her. Its very annoying people cant follow directions, I would have rather put up with the tufts of fur coming out. :)

Can I ask a question?
Have you asked her what she did? Like I said, to me it looks like he was shedded out, not trimmed.
Honestly I would just ask. "Can you tell me what you did with my dog while he was here?"
Don't say "I said I didn't want him trimmed: did you trim him?"
Ask what they did do, with a neutral query, and then if they say they trimmed him give your feedback. If they said they used a shedding blade on him, then you'll know that's what they did.
I'm telling you, Jack has no pants when he is done shedding. Since you've never seen this particular dog with a blown coat, you might not necessarily be coming to the correct conclusion. Then again, maybe you are, but the simplest thing is just to ask them.

By the way, one thing that makes me think they did not use scissors is if they did, they would not have left that silly tuft on his butt.
If they used a shedding tool, they obviously can't use it in that area.
It could be that they usually shed the dog out and then trim the bits that they can't use a shedding blade on, so the dog matches. Since you said "No trimming!" they were left leaving that bit.
Just a thought.

The thought did cross my mind that maybe this is how he looks during this time of year. Not owning a pem before, I really don't know what to expect. I was thinking of starting a discussion about normal looking bums...lol. People could post pics of their pem after they have blown their coat for the summer months.
Yes, I am going to call this week and do exactly as you say. No reason to get them on the defense from the get go. :)

Yep!! Right now my dogs are blowing coat. That's exactly what happens to mine with the drier and the brushout. You should see my show Cardis right now... they look like pool noodles. Caleb has no ruff around his chin and Simon has pants that look like they've been chopped with scissors. ;) Riley goes several shades lighter when all the dead topcoat starts peeling out too. You can tell his whole coat is laying flatter in the second picture; groomer probably had a whole Corgi floating in the air and on the ground. Doesn't look like a scissored or clippered coat. Just a stripped out one. :)

Awww.... yep... that's what Caleb looked like last year - his outer pants shed out before his inner ones. In a few weeks then all the tail clump started coming out. I admit, I just was like ... man, that's not a good look on you, buddy. ;) Luckily, there's a big ol' Cardigan tail in the way to hide the hairdo. Riley (my Pem) has minimal bum fluff, so right now his bum is naked, but he looks like he's wearing water wings on his legs. It's... rather funny. ;) Oh, what awkward hair days all around! ;)

yes it is awkward hair days for sure, lol. Tails do come in handy. :) Tucker reminds me of a pup kinda, now that he has less fur. So, I get the best of both worlds, a dog, looking puppyish, without having to go through the puppy stage! Perfect :)

yes~!! thats exectly what happened to Carly , my husband said she looks like she lost five lbs..when i picked her up last week from the groomer, but she still had her short pants in the back?

Just from those last two pictures it looks like they stripped out the undercoat. His coat will lay a lot more flat than when it had all that poofy fur underneath. Henry always looks like he lost 5 lbs once he blows his coat lol.
