A sad good bye to our loving Lucy....1-8-98 - 7-29-11

Today our family had to say good bye to our wonderful corgi Lucy.  Lucy would have been 14 in January.  We had the pleasure of knowing her for 6 years.  Lucy was our first corgi and she was a rescue.  She had such a clever personality!  It was Lucy's world and we all just lived in it LOL!

It was Lucy that gave us such a love for the breed.  I love all dogs, but there is just something extra special, almost magical about corgis.  I do hope that Lucy is looking down on us this wonderful warm summer evening with a smile.  She certainly gave us years of love, laughter and comfort.

RIP my little one...

RIP Lucy! I'm so sorry to hear that.
THANK YOU GUYS!
I bet she is running with corgis and their buddies over the Rainbow Bridge now.  So glad Lucy had you for so much of her life.
Me too. It's soooo difficult though.  We have another corgi Logan.  He's 5 and it's just so hard to watch him look for her.  This is going to be tough, but we are keeping in mind we had to consider Lucy's quality of life. She has had trouble for about a year and her eyes no longer had life.  Putting a dog down is just the most heartbreaking thing one can do.
Lilly and I are very sorry for your Loss!
Thank you all! it helps when you have such a wonderful corgi family.  Thank you for your support.
Lori, so sorry to hear of the passing of Lucy. I know how fast 6 six years can fly by, since, Lance will be 6 this October.  Tears fill my eyes, thinking of your loss during this diffucult time.

Thank you so much.  James Taylor's" You've Got a Friend" is the song that best describes how I feel about Lucy.  I'm sure this is the song she would use too when she thinks of her "people family" as we call ourselves in this house.

God Bless all of you in our time of sorrow.  I cant tell you how your thoughts will help us through this difficult time.

Sorry for your loss.  That's such a beautiful song.
I'm so sorry for your loss.
Deepest sympathies. I'm sure she is having a great FRAP over the Rainbow Bridge.
Lori, I lost Chloe in February and I still think of her daily.  I too had to make that difficult decision and it hurts more than anything ever.  I think of her up there waiting for me so that we can be reunited.  Solomon has made losing her easier to deal with.  I think she would approve of him borrowing me for a while.  Sorry that you have to go thru this but each day you begin to smile and remember the love and joy instead of the pain.  Talking about it here always makes things just a tiny bit better.  Corgi prayers are with you from us.
