I was told, when my wife and I got Leena from the breeder, to expect her to reach 25 lbs, like her mother.  I also know that 25 lbs is considered a pretty healthy weight for a female pembroke.  Leena hasn't reached 7 months and is already 22lbs, which would seem high to me at this point, except for the fact that she hasn't really "filled out" at all.  We're guessing it's a lot of muscle.  That being said, is the whole "ideal weight" thing a bunch of bunk?

Around here the vets don't see Corgis often and so that might be the problem with your vet but then there's common sense also.

the vet i am going to told me that teddy needed to shed a few pounds because he was 32pounds. teddy is very active. we go to the lake so he can run and play multiple times a week. he was getting a 1/2cup in the morning and half at night, with treats. i went with that the vet said and its turned out hes was wrong on teddy. he lost 5pounds because i put him 1/3 a cup in morning and 1/4 at night with no treats what so ever. it wasnt enough food for him at all. u could see his rib cage to well and feel the top of his hip bones.=/

i wouldnt always go with what everyone says, as long as she looks fit and healthy i wouldnt worry about it:)
