So today Camden had a vet appointment and during the check up the doctor said that he has a spot in one of his eyes which could be a small cataract. Has anyone had any experience with them in puppies? Also he might have an ear infection as well. We were given drops to put in his ears and also ear cleaner that we have to use every other day. Are Corgis known to have ear problems?

The vet gave us ear drops and cleaner for him but didn't say anything about his eye yet. I guess we'll have to wait until next week to find out possibly.
Sparty had a spot in his eye and we saw a specialist. He confirmed that it was nothing to worry about and that was about 11 years ago. Hoping for the same for you.
One of my friends dogs has cataracts, and it started when he was under a year. They've had surgery on one eye, and are waiting now to do the other. On the other hand, Seanna has spots on her eyes--they kind of look like a smudge on a window. She has corneal dystrophy, which isn't a worry at all.
Pretty much any dog can get ear infections. Mine corgis have not had them yet, but I do use the ear wash in their ears probably about once a week. They swim A LOT and the ear wash helps dry out their ears and prevent infection. It also has some anti-bacterial and anti-yeast function to help keep any infection down. You can use a 50/50 white vinegar and water combo however NEVER use q-tips in your dogs ears. You can use cotton balls to wipe out all the gunk but you can do some damage with q-tips and often end up just pushing the debris farther down the ear canal.
I'd wait to hear from your vet about the cataract. If he/she called it cataract then it will probably affect his vision and require surgery. Are you in contact with his breeder? If so, you should let her know what the vet found with the eye, especially if surgery is required.
