I was wondering whether I should clip Napolean's nails every month, week, or any other time. Do I clip every time he takes a bath (once every 1-3 months)? Is the schedule for cleaning your dog's ears different from clipping nails? Do you use a a formula for cleaning your dog's ears?

I need some input on the routines you have with your corgis so I know I'm doing the right thing with Napolean :)

haha It almost seems like I'm doing something wrong.
Chase's ears get dirty like every weeks. I sit down about every two weeks and clean his ears out with some Q-tips.
He hates it, but he gets a treat afterwards. I clean his teeth either with my hands or a soft baby tooth brush. Many people swear by doggy tooth brushes but to me baby tooth brushes are just as gentle. I have been meaning to get a finger tooth brush but we have had a lot going on recently and haven't been able to. Just DON'T use people tooth paste. Most people know that though. I brush his teeth every week to two weeks just to make sure there isn't anything stuck in his teeth and to make me feel better about his dental health.
His nails don't get the attention that his ears or teeth get though. I used to clean them out when they get dirty but we're on my grandfather's farm right now and it wouldn't do me any good. lol
His nails wear themselves down a lot because of all the playing and running around. I just clip them as needed, when the white is getting too long.
Just make sure you handle Napolean a lot so that he gets used to you messing with his ears/mouth/feet.

Your not going to believe this one...I have a Cocker Spaniel that must have ears inspected and cleaned daily and I mean daily. My Dino the corgi will watch and cheer me on when cleaning the cocker spaniels ears and get in line to have his done. He will put his head on the pillow with his butt in the air while his tail is wagging. I just clean the outside of his ear and he loves the attention. I call him a silly boy and give them a treat just for being good babies.

My cocker spaniel also had to have her ears cleaned daily!  We worked out a schedule so everyone in the house had a turn and it wasn't so bad!

Ears - I use equal parts water and vinegar, our vet told us this would work just as well, and I squirt it using a medicine dropper.  I only do about .3 - .35 ml in each ear.  They shake it out.  I only clean ears after a beach trip or particular dirty camping trip.  Their ears are never dirty otherwise.

Teeth - I brush them once a month and give chewies in between.

Nails - Leia (2 years old) needs them cut every 2 weeks minimum, but Luke (4 months old) can go almost month right now.

Baths - I bathe them every other week with a shampoo that has a conditioner in it.  I use a sensitive skin formula even though they dont have sensitive skin.  I bathe them a lot because they sleep in our bedroom and we are often visiting other people's houses with our dogs.  I just want them to smell fresh in other people's houses when they bend down to pet or snuggle with them.  They rarely actually NEED a bath.
