Spay update

Becca is feeling better today. In fact she jumped up on the couch twice this afternoon while I was reading. Her incision looks ok, the scab pulled off a tiny bit. She is in her crate right now. Other than crating her, (I don't have an x-pen) how do I keep her off? I'm trying to be vigilant, but she is sneaky and fast.

Checking her belly has also been interesting. She doesn't want me anywhere near it. I have been looking from underneath and when I carry her up the steps. She freaks out when restrained so it has all been difficult. The painkiller slows her down a bit, but may be making her constipated. If she doesn't go by tomorrow morning I'll call the vet to check in.

Hope Becca has made it to potty since yesterday. When we had Leia spayed, our vet only gave us pain pills for the first 48 hours and told us that after the worst was over, some pain and discomfort would help keep her activity minimal. I remember laying on the floor with her, cuddling and giving her love and then treats while I examined her incision. I spent quite a while hanging out with her before I would try to look. I looked under the guise of a belly rub or chin scratching. Then I would feed her a treat as I rolled her over with the other hand. Get well soon, Becca!!

Becca is just about back to her wild woman self. It has been difficult keeping her inactive. She won't go to the bathroom in our yard so we have been going on a short neighborhood walk. All is back to normal that way.
