After 3 months of waiting on corgi waiting lists, I got the call to come look at a litter last weekend. I was so excited! The woman who called me is a very reputable breeder who has shown dogs for over 30 years, and corgis for 15-20. There are videos of her showing he corgis on YouTube, and she is a long-standing member of the PWCCA. She does extensive health clearances of the parents (CERF, eyes, DM), and also has the puppies eyes checked by a vet before they leave for their new homes.
I am looking for a real cuddlebug, and there were 2 females in particular that she thought would be a good fit for me. I fell head over heels for one of them. All puppies are cute, but there was something about this female that just tugged at my heart. However, when I got home and looked at her pictures, I noticed that her left eye (the one on the right in the pictures) seems to have a lot of white in it on one side. It's almost as if it's wandering or something? I didn't notice this in person, but I did in the pictures, which I'm attaching here. I have read so many tales of woe on here that I want to be careful. But I also don't want to be too OVERLY cautious and scare myself out of what might just be a minor cosmetic flaw in a really terrific dog. I also don't want to pay an arm and a leg and have health issues later that I could have avoided had I been a little more careful.
Have you guys seen this before? Is this cause for concern? Is this something she might grow out of? Am I obsessing over nothing?? Help!!

I like what you said... "when you know better, you do better." I may have to use that quote.
Sounds like you are doing your homework, so you should do great. I agree with all the people who said that sometimes you just KNOW that this dog is for you. Dogs often pick you. There is a connection.
Please let us know what happens with your sweet little girl and if she comes to live with you post lots of pictures.

What a beautiful corgi! I hope it turns out to be good news for you! I can tell why you couldn't resist that face! :)
I think it may be as simple as her looking a little bit to the left.
When I got Randy 2 years ago, the breeder had a sweet little girl picked out for me because I said I wanted a girl. She sent pics of all 5 pups (3 girls and 2 boys) and I was attracted to one of the boys and after I had seen them, I wanted him. It turns out that he is an alpha male and can be strong willed and hard headed but he is also adorable and very loving. I huff and cuss at times but am thrilled that I have the big boy (as he turned out to be). Would I have been happier with the girl, who knows but I love my baby boy.
I also don't have much experience with this. When looking at puppy pictures of the dog we have now, sometimes her eye looked a little off too but she has no issues now. If it concerns you I would bring it up with your breeder but if she does eye testing then if there is something wrong she is sure to find it. You said you had a strong connection with her and I've heard before that when you find the dog that is right for you, you just know, maybe it is one of those situations. I would also like to add that she is ADORABLE. I really just think she is darling. I hope all works out! It sounds like you have a very reputable breeder too. (:
Puppies eyes are immature and aren't completely coordinated and they can wander a little bit like that. It's not uncommon to take pictures of puppies where the eyes look crossed or lazy. Just sort of gaining control over their legs, they just don't have as good of control over them as they do when they get older. I think thats the worse case scenario here, the simple case scenario is she is just looking off to the extreme left.
Natalie, what a cute puppy!!!! I couldn't change my mind about her either. My puppy has the same thing and I think it's just when she looks a certain way. My boyfriend and I both noticed it, but I don't mind. Hope you feel comfortable with what the breeder tells you and puts your mind at ease. We've only had our puppy for 4 weeks so can't say whether she'll grow out of it, but either way I love her to death. I attached a picture but not sure if you can see if well, it's her right eye also.
