im having bit of trouble with finding a good that isnt going to cost me a fortune and is of good quality. over the past few months i have really been paying attention to the rise of dog food that u see in pet stores. i used to feed baden wellness but now for a 15pound bag its $38! im not going to spend that much so i switched to blue buffalo as the 15pund bag was only $29 but now its $36 -__- i have been looking around the whole store for something that was good food but with in my spending budget and came across merrick dog food called whole farms only $13 for a 6pound bag really good food BUT baden hates it. its a food i can afford and has good ingredients but  wont eat it. im talking going two days with out eating it until he cant take it anymore and will eat so slowly spitting it out and then giving into eating it, it makes me feel so bad.

does anyone know of a site or store that sells good dog food for a decent price? he dosnt like chicken or fish and he is allergic to corn so i have no choice but to feed the higher quality foods.

thank you

If you can find a feed supply/farm/tractor place (or use location finder on your computer for distances) I have found TOTW and other better brands at a more reasonable price there. My food at the vet has also gone up$5-7 a bag:(

Good luck!

It pays to shop around. There is a $5 difference per bag sometimes store to store. I just got a bag at Planet Dog, then priced it while at Petco. It was $4 cheaper at Planet Dog. I've found prices to be cheap at feed stores as well. When I fed TOTW I could get it several dollars cheaper at the local feed store than at the pet store chains.

I feed my puppy earthborn holistic, horizon legacy and taste of the wild, switching from one bag to the next. :)

I was feeding Foxy Blue Buffalo and she was doing good on it and liked it.  I then decided to switch to TOTW because she seemed to be itching a little bit and thought i might be from the grain.  They do sell it at a Tractor Supply by us but we also have a store called Family Farm and Home and it is even cheaper there.  I can't believe I can get such a great food at such a low price.  The 6 lb. bag is only $9.99, at Tractor Supply I believe it was $11.99. She seems to really like it and she has even less poop than before.  I'm feeding her the High Prairie version.  Good luck.

I feed my two boys Diamond Naturals Grain Free the beef and sweet potato and they love it. Its not the cheapest food in the world about $40 for a 28lb bag but that being said it does last my two guys around a month if not more. Its a high quality food that is full of all the good stuff dogs want/need with out all the fillers.

Costco's brand, Kirkland, looks good to me. I haven't used it myself (it has ingredients in it that Lilli can't have) but the ingredient list is impressive. As is the price.

I sympathize. One dog has special diet needs (she gets California Natural Limited Ingredient), and one dog who gets tired of a food and will refuse to eat the same thing after a while. I think I've read every label on every bag in the store!

lol i know how u feel. i feel silly picking up all sorts of bags of dog food and reading the labels. i get lots of odd looks but after i tell them what im doing they just laugh and say "well carry on"

Yeah, I'm thankful for the Internet because I have easily spent hours poring over and comparing ingredients and nutritional analyses of various kibbles against each other.

We feed Kaylee Blue Buffalo. It's a bit expensive but cost saving tips below would apply to any food.

Ever since I figured out Kaylee liked the food and was doing well on it, I've only bought the 30lb bags, which saves you up to b by itself. If you start looking when you have maybe ~10lbs left, you can wait until petsmart and other stores have sales. (Petsmart is having one currently, BTW.) Then you can buy that 30lb bag for even less. So now instead of $2.50/lb (15 lb reg price) its only $1.56/lb (30 lb sale price).
