So today Wiley my younger Corgi puppy mill rescue had 9 teeth pulled and a few months ago Teddy my elderly puppy mill rescue had 16 teeth pulled. I am assuming that some of this may be due to the conditions and possible food they ate? Wynn who is 9 and my own dog has had one pulled. I also figure that some of it could be inherited? Any thoughts?

Oh my....1 tooth? Mine were both under $500 each(yikes) but we have farm vets but they do a great job. The initial estimates for both were lower but due to the difficulty in pulling the price went up...I think I should invest in the vet office,,,haha!
Yeah, it was a bit more than I expected. She kept apologizing because it was so expensive but she also did a bit of cleaning while he was under. I've been going to this vet for 34 years so I don't feel that I was taken. Two years ago when we had to have Oliver the cat's plumbing rerouted..he pees like a girl now...the original estimate was $900 but it only came to $700. Good thing my husband is a big softie when it comes to our critters. I had to laugh, I had emailed him that I couldn't pick Max up till 4, he emailed right back and said he would go with me. His reason...because I would have a hard time getting Max in the car. Yeah, no more than I do any other time.
Awwww what a nice hubby...mine doesn't share as much enthusiasm as I do but does help when I am working or gone:)
My mother asked me why I wanted to marry him. I told her because kids and animals love him so he had to be a good person. Many years ago I took in a stay kitten some kids were tormenting. It wasn't the best time to take in another animal...money was tight. Hubby came home and I said I understood we couldn't keep him. So hubby walked out the door with the cat, going to take him to the shelter. 2 minutes later he walks back in with the kitten on his shoulder. I asked him what happened. His response....he purred. That cat lived to the ripe old age of 19.
I think you made a wise choice with choosing your husband Linda:) That kitty was lucky to have found you!!!!!
My dentist told me that humans vary remarkably in their oral chemistry and susceptibility to plaque.
Al broke a carnasial tooth; I 'spoze it was on one of those solid beef bones I loved to buy for him; $630 with oral surgery and cleaning:
Ouch is right Linda...both mine went in for the cleaning but I knew there were some that needed to be pulled but the vet didn't know if some was calcification or if the tooth was just rotten till he got in there and looked better...luckily none of mine were as much as yours John...the one tooth Wynn had pulled was when I had Wynn neutered so I only had to pay for 1 extraction and the cleaning...since he was already under:)
John....ouch! That's more than what I paid. Max had some cleaning done also but he didn't have much tartar.
