Update...NO more bladder stone:)

Wynn went back for his test today and his bladder stone is gone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Still has to have special food forever but that's OK. Wynn (AKA Mr. Chubo) has lost 5 pounds!!!!

Wynn had to go to the vet for blood in his urine. Looking online made things very scary for what it might be BUT it ended up being a single large(nickel size) bladder stone. He now has a special canned food for a month to see if it will dissolve and if not he will need surgery. Vet didn't seem overly concerned and said surgery is not much worse than him being spayed...

Anyone have any experience with this?

Vicky....glad it doesn't contain added sugars. I couldn't remember what brand the gal said had the sugar and since I was trying to get hold of my daughter who lives on top of Lookout Mt in TN because they had a mudslide up there I didn't feel like trying to find it. Anyway...my girl is ok.

1 more week of food and then he can go back to see if the stone is gone. I talked to the vet and sent him the homemade diet to look at and if not he can get the Royal Canin...maybe I can switch off foods....will see.

Thanks Linda...I almost wonder if some of the weight he lost could have been water weight due to his bladder problem. Wynn looks much better and is standing better too...don't know if he was in pain with the stone or crabby due to it but all around his mood has improved:)

I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if it was a lot of water weight he was carrying. I remember those days of retaining water once a month and it sure made me crabby. So happy that he is feeling better all around.
