Good Toys
Sadie has a plush squeaky toy carrot, like on Bolt, and she loved it so much that she tore off one of the top carrot stems. Now the insides are coming out and I will have to sew it closed again. She also had a rope toy that we would play tug-of-war with and she loves to chew on it, but since she loves that so much too she is eating the string now!
I am trying to find a good toy that she can chew on, since she will be teething soon, but I want to make sure it is healthy for her and she doesn't get hurt eating the insides or anything. Anyone know of any?

Get her a coconut! Dragster loves his. Drag has teeth of steel so its hard to find toys that last longer than a few hours. Also there is a ball at wal-mart that moves around by itself. It really keeps them occupied. Ropes are good for teething. Go to the dollar store and get her some! :)

I have yet to find a suitable toy -- my guys have ripped everything to shreds, and then chewed up the shreds, too. Bertie's favorite toy was, once upon a time, a fabric frisbee, which now only has the vaguest round shape and doesn't fly through the air very well. In my agility class, another Corgi who won't behave for treats will behave for his favorite toy, a Jolly Ball. I'm going to order one and see if my guys like it too. Apparently, it is actually (in a larger size) a horse toy, and this owner's dog stole it from her horses!

My Maggie chews up everything. She even devoured a non edible nylabone which caused her to become very sick. So I only buy kong toys or toys made of rubber. Kong does make stuffed toys now and they come with extra squeekers so you can replace them. The insides are made of fleece and Maggie has had hers a week and it still looks brand new. I am SHOCKED!! I bought her the medium sized teddy bear and she carries it all over the house and is now sleeping with it.

Duncan is good at destuffing some of his toys within minutes of receiving them. He does have a couple that he grabs and squeaks, if the squeaker is still workable. A lot the times, he has "killed" the squeak, but still bites on it. Anyway, one of his toys is a stuffed giraffe...his second one to be exactl His first one was his very first toy, and he never destoyed it, per say. He grabs it and squeaks on it when he is either real content or upset; like a security blanket. I finally had to replace it when the material around the belly where the squeaker was got threadbare. The other two are covered in a fleece like material, and there are a couple of soft latex toys. The rest of his stuffed toys are just bodies that he carries around and shakes. Oh, and he has an octopus from Tuffie toys which are indestructable.

Look into Nylabones, Orka brand toys, Kong, Monster Mouth (also a treat dispenser like the Kong), plush toys without stuffing or ones made from a thicker material.
I would avoid giving rope toys. Finn liked them too but he was eating the strign and it made him throw up. I've heard some very bad stories about rope toys.

When I got my Corgis, I discoverd a material called "Nylabone"- it's a SUPER hard plastic... There are a lot of different toys made of Nylabone, but one in particular is a set of "teething keys". The only place I've found them are in PetCo or PetSmart but I'm sure if you do a search for Nylabone Teething Keys online you'd find them. My dogs are about a year and a half now and still have the same set I got for them about 10 months ago! They are AMAZING and indistructable!!!.
When you're at the store, staring at the zillions of different toys for puppies- look in the upper left hand corner of the tag- it will have an orange bubble that says "Nylabone" in it- It kinda looks like the orange "Nickalodan" sign lol.
I've found that anything plush is absolutely a waste of money for these dogs. Haha... they like to chew chew chew!! Well, with the exception of the knotted rope... those are pretty common- mine like to play tug-of-war with those.

My corgi broke his molar on the nylabone so you have to be careful with those too! Our doberman had stomach (can you say expensive) surgery to remove the string toy she ate. You really have to be careful about which toys you leave with them when your not home!

Thanks, he is fine. However, we had to ban nylabones! Too bad he really liked them but he just chewed them too hard.

Finn had the teething keys. That was one of the first toys we got him. He'd slowly nibble off pieces but once his adult teeth came in the keys were no match. He destroyed them by the time he was 6 months old. I guess that's why they are intended for teething puppies. :)

Well, take a look at the www.nylabone.com websited I posted... I never knew, but apparantly that brand has different "chew level" toys. I mean, go with your gut! I don't want anything to happen to your lil guy, but there might be other options of that kind.
I'm glad he is okay now though!
