Does anyone know how quickly a (corgi) puppy grows?

My little guy has doubled in size in a month. I am rusty and I cannot remember if my first dog did that when she was 4 months old. He was sick and immaciated when I got him. Between the meds and the food he is a happy little guy. I got him at 10.4 pounds. He has to be close to 20 now. Part of me was worried that he was over weight, but everyone I ask just laughs and says he is normal.

On a side note, he is so funny looking right now. His body has grown but his head has not, so he has this big body and this itty bitty head. And of course huge ears. It is an awkward stage but it is so FUNNY!

I think you are explaining what I call the "space alien/bear butt" stage where they really look like outer space creatures! I believe that the last pup that left at 4 months old weighed about 15 so...I don't think it's that strange! What do and how much do you feed him? You should be able to feel his ribs easily...or ask your vet! Maybe he just needed to catch up on what he wasn't getting if he was sick????
I feed him Science Diet and he eats between 2 cups a day and 1/2 cup depending on his appetite. Sometimes it is too hot for him or he simply is not interested in food. I give him 3 meals a day because he is young. I can feel his ribs and he looks fine in most respects, he just has such funny proportions. It is like his body is growing and his head isn't. And I figured he would put on weight after he was healthy, I just did not expect such a growth spirt. He is a frisky little thing. Thanks for the comment.
Loki grew like weeds the first little bit, so it's probably normal :) You may want to be careful with that kind of dog food though- Science Diet has a lot of grains in it which can be fattening to a dog, not to mention that sometimes they don't digest them all that well. We have Instinct currently, no wheat, no corn products, and we feed him dried liver (not wheat and liver treats) treats and a shank bone now and then for his teeth.

What are you feeding him for treats right now?
The forehead will fill in later and each dog grows at different rates along with the amount they grow changes w/age. At younger ages its rapid..they'll go through changes of where they are lengthy and lean to where they fill in and can look a little on the heavy side getting ready for a growth spurt. There are times not many changes happen and then all of a sudden you notice quite a few w/in a couple of weeks. As long as he is at a healthy weight and being fed a good kibble w/the proper amount of exercise I wouldn't worry about weight at this point. As long as you love him and are happy with him and don't plan on showing or breeding..then be happy with him and toss the scale.
