Kirby ate my underwear. I don't mean chewed a hole in it, I mean she downed a whole thong! Should I be worried? She'll be able to pass it right? Has this happened to anyone else?

If it happened not long ago, you can give 3cc of 3% hydrogen peroxide to induce vomit. If not, she may need your assistance with a pair of disposable gloves :)
Keep a close eye on her. Hopefully she can pass it, but you want to make sure she doesn't seem to be having any symptoms of discomfort or illness that might indicate that it's created a blockage or gotten wrapped around intestines. She'll probably be a okay, but just keep watch until you know she's passed it.
What would be some warning signs? I'm thinking lethargy and disinterest in food. Is that correct? Are there more signs to look out for? And about how long do you think before she'll pass it?
Definitely those things, as well as constipation and/or straining and producing diarrhea (sometimes it looks like they are having small amounts of diarrhea but are still straining and it's because a blockage is just preventing anything but liquid coming out). If she starts vomiting or dry heaving repeatedly or seems to have any pain in her stomach area call a vet.

I'm not sure how long it takes to pass to be honest. You might also try giving her some extra fiber to keep things moving in her system. Whole wheat bread and some BeneFiber (make sure she drinks plenty of water with this) are the best sources. You can also call your vet if he's still open or call an after hours clinic and ask what they suggest. Most places will answer questions even if you aren't bringing them in. Good luck!
Thanks! Makes sense to give her more fiber. She seems fine right now, but then again she just ate it a couple hours ago. What a little rascal! :)
ugh, corgis and underwear! I hope they weren't one of your nicer pairs...
Don't mean to scare you, but someone in our therapy dog class just needed surgery for her Sheltie, who ate a sock and got a blockage. And I work with someone whose Dachshund ate a dish towel and needed surgery. So follow they advice given and keep a very close watch. If it were me, I might call the vet so that they at least know what happened.
If she starts to get lethargic or have diarrhea or vomiting take her right in to the vet. Our dobe eats fabric if left alone and has had three surgeries but sometimes a shot of "I forget the name" has helped her pass it without surgery. Just keep a close eye on her.
I was watching animal planet a few weeks ago and they showed a dog who did the same thing twice. The first time they were not even aware of it until the dog was relieving herself and it got stuck. All they saw was a price tag. They rushed her to the vet and the vet slowing pulled it out. On the second occasion, she became quite listless and again was rushed to the vet. They had to do a surgery. You may want to ask your vet.
I had a German Shepherd/Husky mix who was notorious for eating underwear. (She also ate a whole leash one time too--but that's a different story). It was quite embarrasing to be outside, and have a car drive by while she was straining out my underwear. She never had any problems, passed all of them without difficulty (as well as the leash), but she was a much bigger dog. I'd call the vet.
Thanks everyone for your comments. So far she is staying "on schedule" and still playful. She hasn't missed a beat. It was a rather small little thing so I'm really hoping she can handle it. I'll keep yall up to date... Ha ha, I can just imagine my exciting post: "She pooped my thong!!" lol
Thanks again guys!
Happy dance when she does "poop your thong".
