I just had a litter of pups, they are pretty dark in color. I'm worried some other dog got in the yard with my baby girl. She tri colored and Daddy is sable & white. This is my first litter so not really sure what the pups look like at about 4 days old ?

Here's a shot of Zoe at 2 weeks.  She had a lot of black masking as well.

what a cutie !

If you check out my page you will see several pup pics. One of my moms is a tri but I have never had a tri born. Sage is a sable from Livvy and Wynn. I have had many more reds and some sables. You can tell a tri right away:) Please post a pic:)

It does look like you may have had a dog sneak, there is no white on any of those pups.

Noodles is a red and white sable, but I doubted it when we first picked him up because he was so dark. I considered him brown and I couldn't figure out how he would turn red, but he sure did. I don't have any puppy pictures of him on this laptop, but if you see him now, he is definitely red and white. It was pretty funny because his head started turning red first and then the rest of his body finally caught up to the color of his head.

Ok wait...is that the dam? She's a sable not a tri...

She has pretty minimal white herself so it wouldn't surprise me to see some almost solid colored pups, but it is unusual. The standard does not require white markings, although they are usually more desirable.

I believe many many years ago there used to be solid red pembrokes but they are very rarely if ever seen now.

yes she's the dam,she does'nt have much white on her either,I hope your right !!!!

I would say that after looking at the pic of the mom and the pups that they are going to turn out and look very much like her, she does not have alot of white on her.  Just enjoy this wonderful, happy, healthy litter

I think those are Corgi pups, just don't have a lot of white. The body color is what I would expect to see though. Their color will change a lot as they grow. Don't expect that white will appear though, the white you see right now is what you'll get (in fact, white tends to shrink a tad as they get older).

In response to our previous talk. Here are recent pics of the puppies what do ya'll think now ?

Is the black puppy one of hers? I could be wrong, but I don't believe Corgi's come in black bis (just black and white). The only ones I've ever seen/heard of are black tris. The picture you showed earlier looked like they could have easily been corgis, but with that black puppy, now I'm thinking they probably aren't.
Oh no sorry,i forgot to mention that,I have a friend that had Chi-wieny pups 8 of them and the poor little girl was so much smaller than the others,so we thought maybe Shiloh would take care of her and she is a wonderful adopted Mom !!!
