WOW...sure wish we could put an end to all the puppy mills! Having had 4 rescues of my own and seeing their problems...I can't imagine an operation like this:(

I cannot believe this lady only got 20 days in jail + $500 fine, 80 hours of community service, 1 year probation. Plus she will only spend nights in jail but still be able to oversee kennel operations on weekdays as work release and continue to sell dogs on the internet? WHAT???
Michael Vick got 23 months in federal prison + 3 yr probation, $250,000 fine,$928073.04 as "restitution" for his 50+ dogs and NO chance of owning a dog ever again!
I remember several years ago there was a similar operation in Florida, the corgi breeder was put in jail for a while and as soon as she she got out, she was at it again and selling on the internet. Vicious cycle.

Crazy that she was only convicted of misdemeanors and not felonies. Our system is broke.

I have always believed that they should get what they give, of course that is "cruel and unusual punishment", and not permitted. None of those people should never be allowed to even OWN another animal EVER! I know some cases about horses that would make your spine curl...some people suck! I chose to read text, I can not bring myself to look at the video.

Haven't watched it yet because I'm at work, but everyone who would think of buying from a pet store needs to hear about this. Buying one just opens up the cage for the next one.

It's so hard, because none of us wants to cast judgement on someone who already bought a dog at a pet store without realizing what was involved, and many people feel they are "rescuing" a pup by buying from such a facility.
I think the key is sublety. Letters to the editor might help if there is a local pet store that sells puppies (I wouldn't name the pet store for fear of libel, but we do have a pet store that sells puppies). Being ambassadors to our breed when we are out and about with our dogs can help too, I think. When people ask us about Corgis, one of the things we always stress is to make sure to find a good breeder because they are bossy, mouthy dogs and those that are not carefully bred can be a bit nasty. Corgis are small enough to be frequent pet-store finds, sadly.
Sometimes when I'm in dog classes or something I might make a comment about pet-store puppies; with a sad head-shake I'll mention something about them all coming from puppy mills, poor things.
Subtlety is the key. None of us likes to be lectured!

Good job! I think that's why the public does not take PETA seriously. They preach, and scream, and at times they spout stuff they know nothing about. (like the truth) Subtlety is the best policy.

OMG. I threw up after watching this. I can't even watch the Humane Society commercials on TV, but I made myself watch this. It makes me sick, mad and so sad to see what these people do. I've already joined their organization, and will do whatever I can....
