im not sure when they came out with the K9 advantix 2 but when i got it in the mail today i was pretty happy(i ordered from petco online, WAY cheaper)  now it also protects against flea eggs and larva. it already protects against adult fleas, ticks, mosquitoes, biting flies, lice and is water proof. i must say that is everything i was looking for in a preventive so this is perfect for when we move to Arkansas as there is a TON of nasty critters lol i just wanted to let everyone know. this brand has worked great for us. I dont ever see a flea and i always see mosquitoes fly away from him as well.

only thing to watch out for is you can't use this product if you have cats because it is toxic to cats. Otherwise I would totally be using it too instead of Frontline. Wish they would tweak the formula a little more to make it safe for cats so we cat owners had more than one option for tick prevention.
thank you for this post I usually use frontline and too was looking for a little bit cheaper but just as good product as I now have to buy it for 2 doggies, i saw it online for alot cheaper than my vet. :) I will now have to try it also :) thanks again :)
your very welcome:) i had no idea how much cheaper it was online and since it protects against everything i thought others would want to know as well:)
i have two cats so i called the company when i first bought it becasue i didnt know it was toxic to cats at the time and my husband threw away the receipt. they said as long as they dont groom each other or play for about 2-3days then they would be ok

Yep, what we do is lock the cat away for an hour or so after we apply it, then just keep an eye on them.  Since our cat does not groom the dogs, it's not a problem.  If she did groom them actively, I'd probably switch.  Advantix seems better for ticks than Frontline.

I agree it's a product that works well.  We've never had a flea.  It's important to us that Advantix kills them instantly, since we don't want to have to treat our indoor-only cat for fleas at all if we can help it.  I saw one flea once when we picked Jack up from a boarding facility;  it walked across his ear, then jumped off and left.

the thing with our cats is they LOVE to play with teddy. i mean they run and leap on to his back so he will play with them and the funny part is the cats chase teddy half the time!  my cat, jango, always starts the fights and wants teddy to chase him when hes done chasing teddy lol yoda likes to play but not as much as jango
so thats why i would have to separate them for a few:)
