I'm not sure whether to be mad at the cat or dog. I tie the handles of the dog/cat food cupboard, but the cat got it open today. Becca ate almost a whole box of cat food, and the last few treats in another box. The day was completed by shredding the boxes. Becca pooped twice right after I got home.

I called the vet to check in. No food, then bland diet tomorrow. I have to watch for signs of pancreatitis.I'm worried and a little paranoid. We were supposed to leave for Christmas tomorrow. So far Becca is a little subdued, but has also played with a squeaky ball since I've been home.

Please keep your fingers crossed that she is fine.

Hoho. Ace did this once - he ate an ENORMOUS quantity of cat food, sicked most of it up on the walk home (our friends' house hadn't been as secure as ours), and then spent the next day pooping a ridiculous amount of soft, mushy turds. It was fabulous.

Just keep an eye on her and I really hope she will be fine. :-)

Probably will be fine, corgis rarely suffer for their gluttony! Tell her next year you want kisses instead..

Welcome to my house.  The dogs usually finish off the dinner with a fine desert...they clean out the litter box.  Chances are you'll have some diarrhea to clean up, deal with some smelly farts for a couple of days, and Becca will be fine.  Of course, you said you're going on vacation?  Hope you're leaving her with someone else!!  Just kidding...she should be OK....

Thanks, I think Becca is dealing better than I am. I'm a nervous wreck, she's sleeping. She is still subdued, but doesn't seem to be in pain or anything. No vomiting yet, pooped one more time. I just need to try and hold it together myself.

It doesn't help that Kramer died the week after Christmas last year. It is making the anxiety that much worse.

Oh no...I'm sorry! She'll be fine...really. Seanna ate a toxic amount of dark chocolate a year ago, and I cried all night. Other than the diarrhea and the fact she didn't sleep for two days, you'd have never known. Dogs are resiliant...they eat stuff all the time they probably shouldn't. They have fast moving digestive systems...and even if she did get pancreatitis, only rarely does it cause severe complications. I will say lots of prayers for you... But I really think she'll be fine....

So far so good. Yay! Becca seems her normal self this morning. She slept all night without any extra potty runs, I took her out far later than usual last night. She got to have 1/2 cup rice with a little burger mixed in this morning. You would have thought she hadn't eaten for weeks.

Thank you for your support. If things continue to go well, We'll leave on our trip today. I will only be able to check the site every few days. Keep thinking good thoughts.....and Happy Holidays.

Mine love to get into cat food...luckily they don't find too much:) I had some in an outside doghouse for the cats in our 1st storm and the dogs found it before the cats:( I'm sure a whole box instead of a bowl would be a little more for their tummys...glad all is well at least for now.
