We pull up to the vets office, I open the car door for Lance and he immediately tries running to the other door, like no way, I'm not going back in that place. I get him out of the car and slowly to the door. He has his brakes on, we get him in the door and he walks in all calm and cool, walks himself right into a room, that is right outside the receptionists desk, lol.  The receptionist calls Lance to her saying hey, you forgot the first stop, your treat.  :)  He was happy to eat that.

So what we found out today at the appointment, was that the hemotoma so we thought, really seems to be more swelling and not a hemotoma, as its further down in his ear than usual.  The vet said that hemotomas are usually more towards the top/tip of the ears not in the middle.  She prescribed an antiflammatory, Rimadyl and an antibacterial, Baytril and on top of those still will be taking Benedryl, and his ear drops and Clavamox.  His temp was 104 at the vets today.  Tomorrow morning we will take his temp again and report it to the vet.

He still is coughing when he drinks and making it hard for him to drink water.  I have been crushing up ice chips and feeding them to him, seems to enjoy that.  Once in awhile he will eat them himself.

Lance was awesome as ever, nervous, but took it all in stride :)  Even was able to get his heartworm test (blood work) done.  I almost don't know who he is at the vet, with how quiet he is, lol, doesn't make a peep while we are there.  We will take it day by day and hopefully these meds will get him back on the right track and 100 percent real soon!!!

I posted a pic of his swollen ear and some pics from him chilling out on his lead for about 4 hours today, just quiet as can be, taking it all in. (No fenced in yard, yet)  One of his favorite things to do!!

He's so absolutely gorgeous!  Poor lil' Lance.....I hope he's on the mend soon.

Ouch that does look like it hurts! So glad it wasn't a hematoma though, I've heard some real horror stories about those.

Feel better Lance! And tell your mom the fence will be worth every penny!

yes, I am glad it also is not a hematoma.  We hear you about the fence, unfortunately we need to stop spending our pennies on the vet and start saving them.  We are even starting to think that we may go with a wooden fence even though we would prefer to get vinyl, but wood would cost less.  Luckily, Lance loves being on lead and has since a pup.  We do let him off lead to play with us, but you just never know, he is good about staying with us, but it is the distractions I worry about, not 100 percent on that, I don't think.
Feel better soon Lance:) We know what it's like to have ear issues here as we went through about 2 weeks of various treatments here last winter.
What a trooper Lance is!  Hope you feel better real soon!  Glad it's not hematoma!
Poor guy with the sore ears!  We love you Lance!  Feel better soon, please!
Did the vet say what is causing the ear swelling and redness? Poor Lance!
Aww poor Lance, hope the medicine makes him feel better soon
Get well soon Lance :)

Poor Lance!  We hope that he feels better soon.  Had he already done a dose of antibiotic?  With the fever and redness something sounds infected.  Good luck!

He has been on an antiboitic for a week now, the Clavamox, but now is on Baytril as well since yesterday, sooooo hopefully this will clear whatever it is up, this is nuts.

I hope you feel better Lance. Not the Noodles has had any ear problems, but I sure am prone to getting them (even as an adult, I've had double ear infections twice). Poor guy...get well soon. Noodles sends his kisses to help you feel better.
