ok, this is a tricky situation. i started a job and was suppose to get paid on the 5th and 20th, well something happened so i haven't been paid, well the dogs ran out of food completely for about four days until today, so they have been eating chicken, rice, and veggies. i absolutly refused to buy cheap garbage from walmart for them. so they seemed fine, a little runny poo but not all the time, so to get them use to kibble again are neighbor gave us a little bit of wellness for them, so i gave that to them for dinner last night.....

what a lovely surprise this morn, the smell was so bad that it woke me and my hubby up from a dead sleep, i see my poor teddy covered in poo and vomit, he thought he was in trouble and began to shake, i let him outside and he well....u can guess, for about ten mins.  the food wasnt even hardly digested but i think that because he just swallows his food, he never chews!  my hubby thinks  this happened because i feed them breakfast, a big snack then kibble for dinner, which they r not use to

it seems that teddy throws up alot since he just inhales his food and doesn't swallow. should i not feed him or have him fast for a whole day? any advice would be appreciated:)

Chicken, rice and veggies sounds good. Have you dogs had Wellness before? If not it's like changing to a new food and it may upset their tummy! I would wait awhile(at least 8 hours) and then start with a little chicken/rice. You could slowly introduce a little kibble but very little amount maybe later in the day if the chicken/rice went ok. Good Luck!
yea he has been on wellness puppy food, but my hubby bought the adult food thinking since its still wellness he will be ok, i think he will have more tummy aches:( and thank u for the advice! just worried about him
Madoc also inhales his food, so I looked for a "slo-bowl" like I had seen it catalogs, but couldn't find one right away. At Petsmart they had a heavy china ball that you put in the middle of their bowl of food and they have to push it around to get at their meal and it slows them down a lot. Madoc stopped vomiting up undigested food after I started using the ball.

Sounds like Teddy's innards were upset by the changes in his diet in the course of a week. My guess is that he will settle down when he is getting his usual food. Hope he's OK! I know you were worried!
i am worried lol hes my little baby, we have such a very close bond to one another. i will try that, so he dosnt inhale his food, i hope that works for him because i would love for him to chew his food lol
has he stopped throwing up? You could also try giving him his food 1/4 at a time so he can't gobble it all up.I know....it's not fun to have one not feeling well!
o i know, i feel so bad. i wont leave his side and even though hes sick he keeps wagging his tail lol he has stopped throwing up. i will try getting him a bowl to slow him down and only give half his food to him at first
Some dogs can not handle a lot of diet changes. Our doberman is one of them! Others like my Sparty can eat anything. I would guess your biggest problem is the lack of consistency. Try to skip a meal and then resume with some chicken an rice for two meals then move on to whatever food you can consistently provide by mixing it with the rice/chicken for at least a day. Cut out the snacks and two meals a day is a good way to go. How old is he? If he is under 3 months you might want to call the vet as puppies can go down hill very quickly. A diet of people food without good research is pretty rich for a dog so be careful about doing that. Mine eat at the speed of light but are adults and only get 1/3 cup plus veggies at each meal so seem fine with it. We do slow the dobe down but they are prone to bloat wich is a life threatening condition often caused by gulping food.
he just turned 5 months this Tuesday. he seems fine otherwise just runny poos. we ran outta chicken and rice and all we have is the adult dog food my husband bought:( i will have to pick up some when he gets off work, since he has the car. he was totally fine eating veggies with the chicken and rice for the 4days but as soon as i gave him a full meal of kibble thats when all that stuff happened. my husband also thinks its cuz it was a little late and it was a third meal which he isnt used too
For the runs, give him some pureed pumpkin.....plain pumpkin, not the pie mix with all the seasoning. That will help in that area.
thank u for the info but do u know if i am suppose to mix it in with his breakfast or just give him a tablespoon alone?
You can mix or give alone. This is great to have on hand (canned) as it's not only healthy but helps constipation and the runs! I believe that many on here give this fairly regularly. I have cans on hand "just in case"!
thank u for letting me know. i gave him some pumpkin (not the pie filling) but it just maid it semi solid and like...not to sound gross but like soft serve ice cream, ya know?
