Hello! We got our little girl yesterday. It was a long drive back and forth to get her and she is a doll! Here's the problem. She did well last night, some whining/barking in her first night in the crate, but nothing bad. Today she has been whining a lot. I'm wondering what I can do to stop the whining. Thank you!

How old is she? If she is a puppy, she is probably missing her family. As she gets used to being in a new home and you love her and treat her well, whining should diminish. Remember everything is different for her.
She's 13 weeks. We are giving her lots of attention and just trying to make things easier. I just hope she stops whining soon.
Where is she when she whines, in the crate, or out and about? As Bev Levy says it's a difficult adjustment....if she is whining in the crate, keep in mind that being crated in the daytime is different than being crated at night.
Both. The crate thing I can deal with. She whines during the day. Like she's bored or something.
She is probably just sad. Remember that you made a conscious choice to buy her and make her your dog, but she did not choose to leave the home she was in and all that was a part of the only life she knew to come and be with you. Be patient, she will adjust and the whining will stop when she feels at home again. It takes a while for bonds to form, just like in human friendships. It helps to have a consistent schedule so she can learn what to expect when.
When are you having her checked out by your vet? It is good to do it very soon after you bring home a new puppy, just as a "wellness check." She might be in some kind of pain? Can you take her temp? Good to have a digital thermometer around and to take temp so you know what is normal for your dog. Is she playful? Does she have any snuggly toys? Is the crate where she can hear you at night, so she doesn't feel alone? We started out with Bogart's crate right outside the bedroom door, so he could hear we were nearby, then we kept moving it farther away until he was in the laundry room at the other side of the house, and did great. I hope things improve, I know it is very stressful in the very beginning.
