Back to the Vets office yet again for another recheck. He had the hemotomas drained, in both ears!! The hemotomas aren't in the usual place that you would see them so I am guessing that when we were in on Saturday the vet wanted to wait and be sure. (We saw the other vet in the practice Saturday, since our vet was off)
Our vet didn't like the fact that he has so many different symptoms and is taking so long to get better. He has a cough, which was acting up again last night. He has had a fever on and off. The hemotomas in an unusual spot. Wow, nothing like reality just hitting you in the face.
Our vet did blood work and also got a urine sample and will be getting back with us on the results in a few days. He mentioned he may need a chest x-ray, we will see.
How quickly things can change. Hmmm, and I thought I was upset with just the thought of having a hemotoma drained, that doesn't sound bad right about now. SIgh
Edit: As of June 23rd we are going to the vets in the morning to get x rays of his chest. Urine sample came back ok. Still waiting on some of the results from the blood work which hopefully he will have results by lances appointment in the morning. The vet is thinking it is an autoimmune mediated disease.
This is where we stand for the moment.
UPDATED:
June 24, 2011 The vets diagnois is Auto Immune Mediated Inflammatory Disease.
Well, here we are two weeks after Lance's initial vet visit for a check on his ears that were bothering him, seeming to be an ear infection when shortly after that visit he developed ear Hematomas. The vet is still waiting for a few more results as the tests he ran, take a couple days to get all of the results back. With all the symptoms, Lance is presenting over the last two weeks with no relief, he really is pretty sure he has the auto immune mediated inflammatory disease. He got a shot of steriods at the vet today, and will start taking steriods in pill form starting tommorrow. Hopefully the steriod treatment will bring relief for once.
Seems a bit overwhelming dealing with such an issue, that seems to have come out of no where. The vet said he would call and check on how Lance was doing later tonight. Heres hoping that the vet bills don't go into overdrive, but of course wanting Lance to get well and stay well. What an emotional rollercoaster.
Thanks for every-ones responses, closing this discussion as I opened a new one.

Hope you find out some answers and that he gets feeling better...:-(
It's so sad to see them sick...and very hard on us owners. We'll be praying that things get well soon!
Thanks Allison, we appreciate it.
Oh Natalie,
I sympathize with you! When Bella had her stomach problems and then possible blockage we didn't know what to do next. In the end it turned out fine and never really figured it out but it's horrible when you're going through it! Good luck to all of you!
poor Lance, sending positive thougths your way!
