We have a quiet Corgi??
Hi
We got Enzo about a month ago he is now 3 months old. He is doing great with housing training and a few basic tricks. He is quiet. Which is great but since we keep reading everywhere that Corgi's are very vocal we keep waiting for him to bark more often. He does bark and a few little cries but not at any specific time. He notices other dogs in our complex barking but he just sits up and listens.
Is there a certain age they start barking more or did we get lucky with a quiet Corgi?

You may have a quiet one, but it is early to tell yet. Enzo will probably begin to show adult personality traits around sexual maturity in the period between 6 months and 1 year. Right now you are just seeing shadows of the dog Enzo will eventually be.
But, certainly there are Corgis that are more reserved. Many are vocal in play, but others will mostly bark to defend territory, and he's a bit young to do that yet.
How cute he is too!

Just hope you got lucky! Some corgis are more quite and then there's my big mouth Wynn who is usually quite at home but tonight when we went to Pet Expo and there where kids playing and running he had to make a big fuss as he wasn't able to join in! My Bella doesn't bark alot usually only when there's something going on outside and my dogs bark more because they get each other going! He'll bark when he wants or needs to but don't worry if he isn't obnoxious!

When I first got Stella, she had really no response towards other dogs and didn't bark at all, either. Actually, when I took her on walks I would have to carry her past barking dogs because she was so scared! When I took her to the vet for the first time, she just sat on my lap calmly and quietly. At around 3 1/2 months or so she gradually started barking back and became more vocal in general. She is currently, at almost 5 months, barking at more things--people walking close to the property, strange sounds. She's also fairly immature about it (for obvious reasons!) and will bark at dogs on the street and at the vet randomly and inconsistently. I'm sure her barking pattern will become more consistent as she matures. Based on my experience with Stella,and,in agreement with what others have mentioned, I think that it's a little early to tell if Enzo is a quiet corgi or not. I just thought I would give you my barking timeline with Stella so you can compare as Enzo ages. If he's anything like Stella and just turned 3 months old, he'll start barking (at least a little) soon. Even though Stella does bark, I feel that she's a quiet dog. Stella's my first Corgi and I've always had terriers so "quiet" is extremely relative to me!

Mine talks. Surprised the heck out of me. My other dog always sassed me and talked to me all the time, so when my quiet Cody started in last week with the "talking" I was surprised. I love it when they talk!

I have had two quiet ones and one very big mouthed one! Enzo is a little young to know for sure. Izzy is now almost three and even with our very noisy Sparty around she rarely barks. It is quite pleasant actually especially since the doberman is a barker too. Cute puppy!

Jack is big-mouthed, but only at home! We pick him up from being boarded and the owner says "he's so quiet, he never barks!" and I look at her and laugh and laugh....

My Cody boy is also very quiet. He is 4 yrs old and a rescue. I have had him about 2 months now. My mom asked me does he bark, and I told her I had only heard him once since I had gotten him and it was at a raccoon that was in the yard and more a fearful bark. About five minutes later he started barking at the other dogs in the neighborhood and about knocked us out of our lawn chairs because we had not heard it before! Shocked us to say the least. Now he only barks out of fear. I am guessing that Corgi's are supposed to be barkers, but mine is quiet too. I guess I will enjoy until he finds his voice!

Loki was very quiet when we first got him...I think he started getting vocal (chewi sounds, grumbles, etc) when he was about 4-5 months. He doesn't bark at other dogs at all, when they bark at him he just sits and listens, and then ignores them. He barks a little now when he's scared of something (usually something immobile that he can't herd, especially if it's night time) or if he really wants something, but otherwise he's not a barker. Maybe Enzo will turn out like Loki and be a vocal dog but not a barker.

My corgi is 4 months old , he seems to be a quiet one, he didn't cry of bark the thrid day in the house by itself in the kitcken ( we put him beside our bed for the first 2 days), when he saw a dog when he we go for a talk in the neighbourhood, he didn't barking at all, even the other dog barking at him, but Im not sure about it yet, since he is still young. But he likes to Bark at me for attention when I wake up in the morning.. and when he knew that Im at down stair first floor, he started barking.... He only barks at me -.-:
