Why can't corgis be normal?
This behavior has got us wondering.We had snow for 3 days off and on ( Mostly on) The M & Ms were having a great time. We had to go out several times to get them to come in. It was just to cold for anyone to be out to long. Then they started fighting when they came in. Max been the one who starts it and then Mollee gets mad so she lays there and wrinkles her nose at max. Now they don't want to go out very long by their selves. It's like we have terrible monsters in the yard. We have both gone out and checked everything. We find nothing. I wonder if they figure if they act up they'll get no christmas. If you have any ideas on what to do with any of these problems let me know. Thanks

I love corgis cuz they don't need to be normal! How cold is it where you are with the snow? My dogs can easily be out 15-20 minutes if it's above zero and many times longer. If they're running and getting exercise then they're probably not cold. Do you have a fence so they can run longer and you just check on them occasionally? Corgis have the double coat and as long as you can monitor them they are probably just having a great time!

Yard is fenced and they have over a half acre to run and yes they have fun. What bothers us is the sudden fighting and beening scared to go out side.

Where do you live? Could there be other animals (coyotes etc) out there that may be scaring them? Just because you don't see them or hear them, does not mean they are not out there.

That is very true that there could be other animals out there or close by! The other night I was outside late and just happened to hear several coyotes and they weren't that far away. Could there even be a possum or racoon someplace out there? As for the fighting I would either leash or kennel the one that starts it for awhile and try to stop it immediatly! I have a nose wrinkler too and I wonder if the weather at least here is making things worse as they don't get out 1/2 as much as usual!

My corgi has always been that way. She hates being outside alone and would just sit there and wine until I came out. Since I have gotten her a playmate/brother she has been a lot more active. They also play fight and it is hard to get them in.... but I just shrug. It is the same as little kids who feel recess is not long enough. I let them play more, and play fighting is normal and entertaining. Mine do it all the time. They let eachother know when it is too rough or they ave had enough.
With attachment, if it bothers you, I would try watching them from the window and tapping every now and then so they know yo are watching. I works for our mutt morgan. As long as he knows we can see him, he behaves and is happy Otherwise he tries to dig to china. LOL

I wonder if they were just so excited when they came in that excess energy just caused one to be a little annoyed. A behavior that occurs with a lot of energy can become a habit. So maybe that is what is happening. You just need to break the pattern so do something different when they come in such as leash one of them and practice a sit or down. That will stop the "snarking" at each other. As far as not wanting to go out by them selves, I prefer mine to not be out long so I don't know what it could be. It is possible they smelled something that freaked them out a little.
