The turtles are out today because of our wonderful 80 degree weather! (I'm so excited for summer!) and we discovered a brave one that was almost as big as Luca.
She was so scared of it! Once it moved a little bit, it was game over. she ran with her (lack of) tail between her legs :P
Since I'm on the subject of being scared, she is also very scared of other dogs. She loves people. But other dogs scare her big time. I don't know how to handle that. Advice would…

i gave luca a carrot and she is clueless as to what to do with it.
we've found out today that she likes bully sticks and greenies! yay! I'm glad I don't have a picky eater. :]

Luca is home now! Here's a few things I've noticed in the two days she's been home
-She doesn't like her collar.
-She despises the leash.
-She hates her crate.
-She loves her food so much that she swallows it whole and spits it back up. :[
-She wants to chew on everything(expected) especially on mom's hands/toes.
-She follows my every step. this makes me happy :]
-She has picked up pretty quickly that potty time is…

Technically, Luca is not my first puppy. I grew up with several dogs in and out of my life. We went through a couple of animal shelter dogs that had biting problems with my younger brother and one with chewing problems. We finally found a suitable dog for our family after a couple of years of searching. She was a red mini dachshund named Jasmine. A few years later after a move to the country, we got Ginger. no worries! they get over the crate thing quickly. Like the others have said, it will become her "safe haven".
I love the picture of her with her water dish - looks like she can fit right in there!
