Profile Information

Hometown:
Oklahoma
About Me:
We have two corgis, Einzors and Phoenix. We just have our dogs instead of kids. I take them to work with me and we run errands together a lot. They're pretty much all I ever talk about. For serial.
About My Corgi(s):
Ein is 3 years old 3-19-04 and Phoenix is 11.5 months 12-11-06. Ein has non-stop energy "throwtheballthrowtheballthrowtheBALL" and Phoenix is my talkey gurl. She is more of a laid-back cuddler-type. Ein is more skittish and scared of things and will hide in his crate when it hits the fan. When we ride in the car Phoenix doesn't like the big trucks with round hay bales on them. Doesn't like them. At. All. They've both been through obedience training but when they are together, they are kind of naughty and try to get away with stuff that they'd never try if they were separate. Having two corgis is great! I would have a million bajillion if I could.

Phoenix is the Meanix

She bit her brother Ein in the eye. Thank God it only tore the eyelid. She's back on the "zac" wagon. Food aggressions are naughty. She didn't get to have dinner then. Phoenix says missing dinner are the worstest punishment evers!!!! She's all jealous cause now she has go through all the "sit", "down", "wait" and "chowtime" commands just like when she was younger but her brother doesn't. No fairs.

Oh she knows I'm talking about her. She's trying to help me post with her nose.

Frapping together again (FINALLY)

The Ein and Phoenix have been through some pretty intense remediation in obedience training and it seems that they've gotten over the very nasty phase of fighting. They still get into little tiffs every now and then but they seem to be working it out like normal dogs. Over Thanksgiving they had a lot of exercise at my parents farm and bonding time for them to work as a team. Mostly to try and chase cows and kitties. It's their job; grandma can't really get mad.

When we got back… Continue

Major Breakthrough

Ein and Phoenix have still been fighting like crazy.

Two weeks ago we had dog behavior people come out to the house and evaluate our situation. Then last week we went to their facility where they stayed while I went to work. They were confused because of several reasons:

1. Ein is a boy and Phoenix is a girl.

2. They are both fixed.

3. They get along in the yard and in the car.

4. They get along on walks as long as they never face each other.

5. They get along… Continue

OMG We can't stop fighting

We used to have a big brother, Maguire, that was a chow/golden mix. He was our alpha but he was so laid back and peaceful. Well right after we moved to the new house, he was diagnosed with lymphosarcoma. Mom and Dad had to help him to the bridge about two months ago.

About a month ago, we figured out Maguire wasn't coming back so all of a sudden, we began to fight for who was going to be the new alpha. At first Mom would break up the fights and not let us finish but then she decided… Continue
