Swimming Corgi's & Dog Park fears

I know there are quite a few aquatic Corgi's on this site, and I've posted before about Nutty's swimming...but this weekend...OMG. We went to Snyder Park, just to start getting aquainted again with the dog park and swimming. I wasn't expecting Nutmeg to go in the lake. We stopped at the lake first, and they both just walked in the shallow "beach" end, and then wanted to leave. Cinnamon getting fixed today

I just dropped off the baby to get spayed. She's almost 10 months old...I waited too long...bad me. She weighs 20.7 pounds. Nutty who is almost 1 yr 10 months old weighs 28.7 pounds. Yikes! Looks like I may be switching to a less calorie dog food. They get plenty of excercise, and Nutty doesn't look thick. Heeler vs Header

A neighbor asked me if Corgis are heelers or headers. I have no idea! He said that by watching Nutmeg and Cinnamon play, that Nutty is a heeler, and Cinny is a header. Is it heeler or healer? LOL! When playing, Nutmeg goes for the legs, and Cinny goes for Nutmeg's neck area. I see them both trying to just "mouth" each other. Cinnamon doesn't seem interested in herding Nutmeg, but Nutmeg is all about getting Cinnamon in a certain area. Guess I'll get some answers when we go to the SO FLO meet… Continue

Two Corgis and eating grass

I just posted a video pf my yard. Nutmeg never destroyed the yard...until Superstar (love you Alondra) came over. Since Cinnamon has come into her own...my yard has taken such a beating! Now, I live in Florida...I am a novice in dealing with the sawgrass....however, my dogs would eat the grass forever. They NEVER puke it...they just dig it up and eat it. A neighbor said that they might be missing something from their food...a nutrient. They both eat Solid Gold all wholistic food. HELP MY YARD!

Last Vet visit (puppy shots)

Cinnamon weighs 8.2 pounds at 13.5 weeks. Her brothers weigh so much more. Nutmeg was bigger at this age too. Hmmm....hope she catches up.

We walked!

Today we walked two blocks! Nutmeg is amazing on the leash. It took some time, but she got it faster than Cinnamon has. I thought that Cinny would mimick Nutty, but noooo! Cinny has fought the leash big time! I tried the same tact with Cinny that I did with Nutty....harness to get used to it. A trainer told me that I had to get Nutty on the "choke" collar, and I was in tears the first time. It did work. Bicycle Trailer

Anyone have one of these for going on bike rides? I'd love to ride and be able to take Nutmeg, but not running along side. I've seen them for children, but wondered what the difference would be for a dog? Advise? Thanks!

What can my dog chew on?

I am at my wits end with Nutmeg. She is a ferocious chewer. I gave her one of these...http://www.nylabone.com/products/non-edible/flexible-chews/chicken-flavor-bone68648.htm.

She chewed on it for about 2 days until I saw chunks of it in her area. She is confined to my kitchen when I'm not home. I thought...ok, so she chewed a few chunks off. I took it away. Furminator

Ok, I was reluctant to shell out so much cash for a doggie comb... partly because Nutmeg was not feeling the brush. By feeling, I mean she would freak out, and cry. I was SO gentle, and coo'd to her the whole time. She LOVES LOVES LOVES baths! If she could shower with me every morning she would!
