I wanted thoughts or whay people did. I have been thinking should I put "Beware of Dog Sign, or Corgi on my gate. I have been hesitant about getting a Corgi doormat or beware of dog sign for two reasons.

1. People will know that I have a Corgi, and want to kid nap her
2. having a Beware of dog sign, is that a liability risk?

My parents, dogless, have had a 'beware of dog' sign for 40 years. You'd be surprised at how much of a deterrent it can be. We would watch various salespeople, etc. go door-to-door and skip their house. I bet it kept them from being robbed, as well. One of the biggest things petty thieves fear is being attacked by a dog.

I agree on keeping the "Corgi" bling down to a minimum...I don't like attracting any attention that way, either.

My father has a beware of dog sign on the fence for his Lab. His lab is freindly but he is intact (medical reasons) and he will follow his hose. People will just wonder into the yard and not shut the gate behind them, and there goes a bolt of blond hair heading for the neighbors house. It embarrised my father terribly to have the whole neighood watch out lab try to persuade the neighbors Chihuahua to go on a date. It will keep people out of the yard, and might keep your dogs safer than if it was not there at all.

I have the Corgi tripping hazzard magnet...but it should be MUCH larger...Penny has almost taken out several of our friends who have stopped over. LOL

I really do not think I need it for Chloe because she loves everyone, but could be a deterrant for criminals.

A Beware of Dog sign won't increase your liability but it does nothing to decrease it either.

Here's where I got the mailbox, btw. I gave them instructions on where to put the various colors for a tri, and my mailbox looks just like Bertie Wooster, my older guy.

Do you need a beware of dog sign? I got a mailbox with a Corgi painted on it, and refer to my house as Casa di Corgi. But I know what you mean about kidnapping -- my guys are with me in the car most of the time (I live in rural CT) UNLESS I go to the nearby little built up towns -- because I'm convinced if I leave the windows open, someone will steal them.
