I will bark Mom! I will!!! At least until it goes away!(Plus Update)

Makenzie went to my sister's late last night. The first day I had Makenzie Jordan was in love he kept coming up to her with his ears back, head low, and stump going a million miles an hour. He'd lick her feet and make little wooki soounds of comfort to her =)

Of course he'd have to make sounds of comfort because Teagen was at a complete loss....she wouldn't come within 4 ft of me and kept barking and barking and barking.....which made Makenzie fuss and cry.

So now I'm wondering what to do about this my sister is expecting her 1st in December and we're twins and close we spend alot of time together so needless to say James(her baby) will be at my house alot and I've got to figure out how to help Teagen get past this.

I'm not sure though if it'll be as bad because Makenzie is 6 months and moving alot she loves to stand. Jame's won't be this way for a little bit so part of me thinks Teagen will be eased into him a little bit at a time as he developes she should get used to more and more movement and sounds from him correct?

Any advice would be appreciated!!!

P.S. they didn't say anything YAY!!!! I took your guys advice and went for the baking soda swept into the carpet instead of another round of bisseling =)

All my dogs (except for Wiley my rescue who runs away and hates crying) adore all children in fact we had 4 little ones out tonight to see our pups!Even Livvy(mom) accepted them all into her room to see her pups, wagging her tail the whole time! They can't wait for pets and to play and are in their faces all the time!

I do agree with Chris and Bev...and give her time!

What a cutie! I agree with Chris, treats for being quiet around the baby. Does Teagen know Quiet? Try working on it before the kids are over. Mine have always been fine around the Grand kids although Izzy and Misty appear to want to not get too close. I am fine with that and try to keep the babies and dogs somewhat separated any way.

Don't force it but give Teagen treats for being around James without barking or growling, and tell her what a good girl she is and per her all the while. Save a special yummy treat for ONLY when she she's being good around the baby. She is probably warning you about the "danger" of the baby, who is an intruder into your pack.

Good news about the carpet!

I don't have children so I don't have much advice there. But my guess would be that if you introduce James slowly to Teagen, over time she will learn to accept him
