It's Official!

Sky and Lyla are getting a new brother on Thursday! His call name is Brando, after Marlon Brando because I love Guys and Dolls and Streetcare Named Desire, and I always thought it would be cool to have a big red dog named Brando... very masculine. His show name is Katahdin Into the Wild (breeder picked it).

My biggest concern is just making sure Lyla is okay making this transition. She has a tendency to get timid and stressed easily, so I am going to get her used to Brando slowly. She also loves going to the dog park and daycare, so I think she will be okay at first, I'm just not sure if that will change once she realizes that he's staying and her routine has changed. Any good ideas?

And because I have to show off... he can be viewed here. I love that I'm listed as a co-owner, it makes everything so official! (and thanks again to all of you who helped me out with questions/concerns on the co-ownership, we got a nice long contract with everything spelled out!)

As far as Lyla transitioning: I think the best thing to do is act like it's no big deal yourself. They take our cues from us and if we're worried about how they'll get along, they'll pick up on it. I'll bet she surprised you.
