So my daily routine is to wake up, go shower, get dressed and ready to leave, put lotion on, then take the dogs out to go potty. While I do all this the dogs are still passed out on my bed or on the floor of my room. I guess they have learned to associate lotion with going out because now when I pump the lotion bottle, the dogs will leap up and bolt to the door with waggy tails and smiles. I know its typically to see this behavior when you pick up leashes and things like that but its amusing to see it in response to me putting on lotion. Have your dogs learned to respond to weird things in your daily routine?

My grandparents feed their shelties when Jeopardy comes on. When the Jeopardy theme song starts, the dogs start running around in circles. They have to feed them before they can even watch the show.

Sometimes I wonder who's training whom.
Moose will know when we are leaving too, he gets excited and runs to the door. He knows when it's bedtime too because we shut the door.
When I stretch in the morning, Waffle freaks out and stretches too, and makes the craziest sounds! He also puts his paws on me, preventing me from getting up, and kind of smacks me in the face with his face. He knows that stretching = getting out of bed. Hahaha. Anything for a few extra cuddle minutes I guess!
lol, corgi stretches are the cutest!!!
Yes they are! Orion does a little howl like thing when he stretches, it cracks me up
Sunny does too! She will stretch and then do this moan, yowl thing that pretty dang cute!!
Olive gets up with me in the morning and when I start to get ready for work she follows me into the bathroom. When I'm done showering, hair is dried and make-up is on the last thing I do is use my electric tooth brush. When she hears that she's knows it's time to switch to being her daddy's dog because I'm leaving soon.
At night the last thing I do before I go to bed is brush my teeth. When Archie hears my electric toothbrush turn on he goes right to his crate.
Mine tell time! 6 AM and 6 PM means meal time, I swear that they count the chimes on the clock! When I take my pills, they know that it is time for Lucky to take his, and Sonny gets a tiny lick of the peanut butter on the little spatula. When I sit in my chair, it is usually time to nebulize (or be on the computer) but Lucky hates the nebulizer and goes bonkers. When I put on lotion after a shower, Lucky thinks it is time to lick my legs, he loves the lotion.
When I'm on the computer, and they hear the sound of the speaker and monitor buttons being pushed off, they jump up (even out of a dead sleep) and expectantly wait to follow me out of the room.
I open the dresser drawer for my riding breeches, and the dogs know we are going to the barn. They run around excitedly following me around the house as I get ready to leave.
We have a few -

1. Bear hates the vacuum and I store it in the guestroom. If I open the guestroom door for any purpose, he starts barking his fool head off thinking the vacuum is coming out. He does the same if I start picking up all of his toys out of the floor - he's figure out that this means the vacuum is on its way.

2. He also hates the blowdryer. He used to just bark when I turned it on. Then he realized that before I turned it on, I brushed my hair, so he started barking when I brushed my hair. Then he realized that I take the towel off of my head before I brush my hair, so now he starts barking when I remove the towel from my head. Exhausting.

3. Goldy knows the sound of my keys. God forbid I pick them up to move them, chaos ensues.

4. They both love ice cubes - they used to beg when I cracked the ice tray, then they started begging when I opened the freezer - they have now learned that I get a glass out of the cabinet first, so they start begging whenever they see me open that cabinet - ice cubes coming SOOOON!

They really are impressive creatures.
