A sad good bye to our loving Lucy....1-8-98 - 7-29-11

Today our family had to say good bye to our wonderful corgi Lucy. Lucy would have been 14 in January. We had the pleasure of knowing her for 6 years. Lucy was our first corgi and she was a rescue. She had such a clever personality! It was Lucy's world and we all just lived in it LOL!

It was Lucy that gave us such a love for the breed. I love all dogs, but there is just something extra special, almost magical about corgis. I do hope that Lucy is looking down on us this wonderful warm summer evening with a smile. She certainly gave us years of love, laughter and comfort.

RIP my little one...

I am so sorry, Putting down a beloved pet is the hardest thing to do. I put down my 1st corgi, Rusty in 2006. I miss Rusty as you miss Lucy.

Well known author and Corgi person Tasha Tudor once wrote "Corgis are enchanted. You need only to see them in the moonlight to know this." I don't know if you ever saw Lucy in the moonlight but clearly she worked her Corgi magic on you. Our condolences here on the loss of your fine friend.

I'm so very sorry for the loss of Lucy. Lori, you are right, corgis are truly magical. You and your family gave Lucy many good years and she will always love you for that.

My heart goes out to your family. We have a 5 yr. old Lucy and I used to lie about her age because I didn't want to think of her being older than 2. She was so little and puppy-like, she could pass for 2 until our vet mentioned her age! Your Lucy sounds so wonderful and what a gift that your family rescued her and she found her perfect place in your family. I'm sure she's in peace and frapping with all of our beloved corgis.
