If the wrapped presents under your tree contain chocolate or any other forbidden fruits, Somebody might open them early! Happened to us once.
A corgi might even eat fruitcake.

That is a good warning for Dino and me. Thanks
I second this posting. After being up all night with a wound-up, caffeinated corgi who pooped more in 12 hours than she has all year, and crying wondering if she was going to live or not....please be careful!
My dogs will eat anything at their level!
Our German Shepherd decided a box of chocolate covered cherries needed to be open before x-mas....she fared ok since the chocolate content was not very high, but my dad was bummed he didn't get his cherries! :-)
John, John, John... I am so disappointed in this post... where are the photos??!! I thought to find some of the great pics of your tree surrounded by present litter and the usual subjects posing that normally accompany your warning discussions! lol!! Thanks for the reminder though. Our biggest problem is presents sent through the mail from family members. You never know if they contain food or not. We always try to hide them securely in the back under a pile of heavy other presents, or keep them put up altogether until its Christmas.
Sometimes I feel like I'm the only person in the world that has a dog that doesn't eat everything. I am in big trouble when I get my next one... He might very well die from chocolate or trash eating because I am so used to Waffle just leaving everything alone. :|
Yeah...they are all so different , my frankie is not nearly as obsessed with dumpster diving as i call it . as Carly ,, We all know if she is not in sight shes found a garbage some where , in a bathrm and is eating one little tiny piece of paper.Thankfully we've all learned to empty contents often...if you know what i mean.. hahah
I don't think Waffle knows he is capable of stealing people food or digging through the trash or anything. I bet if someone showed him he could, he would start doing it. >_< I just need to not let him visit with dumpster divers or counter surfers and maybe we'll be okay forever, haha.
Really? He leaves things alone? ... here all this time, I'd thought Waffle was a corgi. :)
He's very respectful of things... I taught him "leave it" and he has never touched anything tasty without my permission since. As long as a proper chew toy is on the floor (old bone, antler, toy, etc) he will not be destructive, too. He'll either chew on the right thing or not chew at all. I don't know. I think I may have a Saint in Corgi clothing rather than a dog. lol.
I don't know. He may be a mole, or a double agent, biding his time, lulling you into complacency until you get sloppy and leave a steak on the table....
