Ahhh! I yelped a new groomers and told him I wanted to trim a little, esp. around the butt area and underside since dirt sticks to it. I left my baby there and came back to check on him and he was halfway shaved, they shaved his sides but the top and his chest fur was still there... I told him to stop and just trim his butt hairs, they said ok and told me to come back. When I came back to get my corgi, he was mostly shaved (esp when i told them to stop!) and has a strip of hair like a mohawk down his back. He has about half an inch of hair, and whats worse, they didn't even shave it evenly!!!! UGH!
My corgi is only 1 and is relatively healthy save for a dry eye issue, will his hair grow back? Has anyone experienced this? I am very distressed! I feel too embarrassed to take him any where unless he has a shirt on.

my god, I would totally be livid if they did that! Maybe ask to speak to the manager? Definitely don't go back, that's for sure. Poor pup, hopefully it grows back quickly.
WHAT!? Those pictures are so pathetic. If you would have posted those first, before all of this discussion, I would have thought it was a joke. That groomer is CRAZY. What breed would have have been appropriate for? The picture of him on the bed just made me think of his naked little heinie and that he looked cold. Poor guy!
Poor baby...I can't imagine either what in the heck the groomer was thinking. I would write them a letter and also enclose some onfo on "not shaving a double coater dog" make sure you keep a copy and I again would ask for my $$$$ back. I think they should do a refund!
The pictures are awesome! Unfortunately I am laughing harder now than I was. Your poor dog! And you! How do you explain this to people? I'd say it was an April Fool's joke from your now-ex boyfriend or something like that. No one's going to believe that a groomer was that stupid! Unfortunately, that's gonna take some time to grow back. Seanna's took almost a year after they shaved her leg for her ACL tear, but it came back in softer...
Sunscreen is definitely a must! Check with your vet though to make sure the ingredients are safe. Too bad they don't have a Better Business Bureau for groomers. Maybe you can leave a bad review for them on Angieslist?
Poor baby :( When you said shaved I did not even picture that much :(
The only good thig I can see is at least his back will be protected from the sun.
Do they make doggy Rogaine?
Holy crap I would be SO PISSED! I would totally email those pictures to the owner/manager and at least ask for compensation. That is absolutely ridiculous. Even if you asked for a trim, what kind of a trim is THAT?
I don't normally get upset or cause a fuss, especially when in public. However, if I had dropped one of mine off at the groomer's and found that he/she had started to do that to my dog, that rule would have been out the window. I would have created a very loud fuss anddemanded a refund/not paid for service. I would also have taken my dog out of there before they could "finish" the appointment!
I know I already commented once, but I didn't realize how severe the shave was! I am so so sorry someone did this! If I were you, I would be calling back and visiting the shop until they provided a full refund! I agree with the others - post as many negative reviews in as many places as you can!
My old business professor shared a story with my class when I was in college. He had to get a refund on an item at a store (I know this situation isn't exactly the same, but bear with me) and the customer service representative was giving him a hard time. It was an item that should have been fine to refund. He asked for the manager and was still told he could only get store credit. He then asked for the store manager and told him/her that he was a business professor (he wasn't at the time) and was still given a hard time. It wasn't until he mentioned that he'd use the experience in the store as a "bad example" in his classes that he was finally granted the refund he should have been given in the first place.
Moral of the story: If there's anything in your personal or professional life that you can use as leverage in an important situation (like yours!), then by all means use it! There is no way they should not refund your money!
Jen is right....make a fuss! Write the store manager and if nothing happens, corporate headquarters!!!! Post negative reviews in the search things (yahoo, etc) if they don't address your issue and give you a refund. Give them a chance to make it right, first, though after you've complained up the chain.
Good point! I got my mom and dad a new printer from HP (without having to pay to send the old one back) by telling them that I only worked weekends, live in a large city, and was going to go stand outside Best Buy with a large sign telling everyone what shitty customer service HP had.
Umm.. WTF.. I was thinking you might just be over exaggerating and then I looked at the photo and was shocked.. I would have caused hell! Was the groomer on drugs? I mean how could they think that is acceptable? Can you please tell me what groomer you went to as I noticed you live really close to me and I won't ever take my Luffy there. Heck I even want to write a review to let others know of the caution to take before taking their pets there.
Good grief, were they planning on doing major surgery on him or what? Be sure you watch him for clipper burn. If he starts licking or getting red, a trip to the vet and then a loud presentation of the vet bill to the groomer would be in order. You need to go back and very firmly demand a refund and hope there is a large crowd around when you do it. Take him with you and demand to see the owner of the shop. That is a travesty!!
