Hi there. :] I'm looking to bring home a corgi sometime within the next year or so, and figured I'd start doing my research now. Recently I've become intrigued with Pembrokes with tails, after seeing pictures of ones from countries where tail docking is banned. I was wondering if anyone knew of any breeders here in the US that didn't dock tails as well? I know it'd probably be pretty rare, since most breeders breed for show, and tails would be non standard... But if anyone knows of any breeders that don't, please let me know. I live in Southern California, but I'm open to breeders from farther away if they're reputable and willing to ship. If fate would allow it, I would love a fluffy boy with a tail. :]
Thank you!!

Oh hohohoho. A fluffy pem with a tail, and male! If this isn't a sign, I don't know what is!
Haha I know. But I found out he's 800 euro... Yikes!
SO how much is that in american$$$$$ ?????
It's approximately $1,040.
Sounds reasonable for EU pricing, unfortunately. :D Many breeders here do not differentiate between "show" and "pet" dogs for pricing - they want all dogs to be of equal value to loving homes.
And how much to ship????
It cost me almost 600 USD to get Ace from the USA to France, so I'd estimate it's along those lines. He's going to be quite an investment if you choose to go with him. :D
Yeah, he does cost quite a few pretty pennies... Haha. I emailed the breeder back and told her that I probably can't afford it right now, but I'm gonna keep that option in mind next time when I get my next puppy. She seems to get a few fluffs in her litters. As much as it would be awesome to have my dream corgi, the price + shipping (which she doesn't know how much since she brought home all her US-bred dogs personally), what with that exchange rate, is gonna take up all my savings. And I'd rather have some money left over to spoil my puppy. Haha. That and for emergency vet bills and stuff.
So I emailed a couple breeders to ask about the puppies they have available right now. Hopefully I'll find a great puppy from them. :] And I'll save up extra money, so when I'm ready for my second puppy, if the US hasn't banned the silly tail docking by then, I'll try the import route again.
The breeder I got Camden from will refrain from docking on request. However, they require that you pay for the puppy in advance because it goes against the breed standard. If you, as the buyer, backs out they may not be able to find a new buyer.
The breeder was Denning Farms in Iowa, and the standard price for pups is $600.
