Lovely. This pet food recall has now been expanded to foods that Diamond doesn't even make, but who are using this same plant to make their foods. Natural Balance, Wellness, and Canidae are now involved in this salmonella recall!!

Everybody check your bags!
I feed TotW here, but it comes from a different manufacturing plant. Also something to note is this manufacturing plant was the same one involved in the 2005 recall due to aflatoxin - the one that killed dozens of pets. I think something is seriously WRONG with how this particular plant is being run!!

I too feed TOTW but luckily they have their own plant in California so my dog's food isn't affected. How scary! And YES this plant seriously needs to have a serious overhaul.
TOTW we bought was on the recall list. We put Miles on it 3 weeks ago. He is doing fine, but we are not taking chances. I am glad we didn't go with Wellness yesterday though, but bought BLUE (lamb).
quote from the cbs article: The recall covers a number of pet food brands made at the Gaston plant, including Canidae, Natural Balance, Apex, Kirkland, Chicken Soup for the Pet Lover's Soul, Country Value, Diamond, Diamond Naturals, Premium Edge, Professional, 4Health and Taste of the Wild.>>
Checked both ....TOTW and Canidea are fine . I'm sure glad they were still in their bags....what a bummer:( I do have to remember that we also have lots of human food recalls that make people sick:(
Okay folks, I don't know about you, but when a company keeps dishing out recalls on a Friday (so that consumer miss it and the company can't be reach for comment in the weekends), something is terribly wrong. This is purely my non logical assumption.
Diamond issued another recall (it's the 12th time from the same plant since April). Yes, to those folks keep saying that their batch / brand didn't get affected, pay attention.
Thanks, Sam!
Here's what's really frustrating--a few years ago there was a 'contamination issue' in the plant that produces euthanasia solution, so the vets were forced to concoct their own mixes to put animals down. Now stop and think about that. The solution is made to KILL things. So why is contamination an issue that has to shut it down? Yet plants that make FOOD can just keep on pumping it out with the same issues!
