Becca and I had a huge scare yesterday. At least I did, I'm not sure she noticed. We were out walking before work. Her favorite route is a wooded access road/ trail down by the river and dam. We were walking along the left side of the road. I noticed something funny hanging from the bushes (plastic stringy stuff), shrugged and kept walking. We went another 15 feet or so and I happened to look at the other side of the road. There was a live power line down, snaked out of the bushes. A tree had clipped the wire and it wasn't visible until we were almost on top of it. We were only about 10 feet away from it. Scared doesn't come close to describing my feelings at the moment. Thank goodness Becca was on her leash. I am so lucky that one or both of us did not get killed. I got us out of the way as quickly and safely as possible.
Our walk got cut short, I came home and called the power company then went and put a sign on the gate. Many dog owners in the neighborhood do the same route. I was on an adrenaline high for a long time. All day I did "What if"...What if she had been off leash etc. In a way it is funny because the power company came and did a safety program for my class a few weeks ago.

That sounds frightening! It's a good thing that none of those "what if's" happened!
Wow...how scary! GLad all turned out well!
Oh my goodness! It's a good thing nothing happened! I am so glad you are both safe.
I would have had a heart attack if something like that happened to me with my little one.
Also, it's a good thing that you took action, called and posted a sign so that no one else would potentially get hurt.
You go!
