I found a tumor on Madison yesterday. I'm taking her to the vet today but I'm all worried about how much its removal is going to cost and with whether or not it's cancerous. I just got this dog in January and I was so lucky to get her. It was pretty much my only chance at owning a Corgi and she's been such a good dog! Very easy to live with and she LOVES to work. I train her almost every day and she knows so much stuff. We were going to compete in dog sports!
Look what she can do:

She can do a bunch of other stuff too. And there was still TONS of stuff I wanted to teach her. So, obviously, I want her to live awhile!

She probably isn't happy with the fact that her peripheral vision is greatly diminished but I think she is doing pretty well despite it. She's using the damn thing like a battering ram xD I don't think she really means to bash into things...just doesn't let anything get in way of where she wants to go xD lol
The cones are too long for Corgis. We cut an inch or two off the top of ours to shorten it a bit. It didn't bash into the floor so much and still did the trick.
Haha, Beth! That would be true in most cases but after Wynn ripped out his neuter stitches and we had to make an ER visit at midnight...he proceeded to rip them out right in front of the vet about 30 seconds after the vet stapled him...I think the vet would have liked to have made the cone even longer!!!!!! He had to wear it for 2 weeks and did learn how to keep his head up so he could run but the 1st few days he did pick up gravel and dirt:(
Too funny! Jack won't try to get at injuries but refuses to move if his cone hits the ground. He gets all depressed and just stands there in the hallway.....
Poor Jack...all those different corgi personalities....I could see Sage just standing there too!
How great that you two found each other. Makes you wonder how such a pretty, smart dog ended up in a shelter. Fingers crossed that she'll be fine.
I think the shelter was as stumped as I was! They said they almost never get Corgis. And based on what I see on PetFinder, most Corgis that do go up for adoption have behavioral issues.
She was so different from every other dog I'd interacted with there. She was the only one who wouldn't join in when all the other dogs were barking and she was the only one who didn't pull on the leash. Hahaha and she also had the shortest legs (for her size) xD MADISON YOU IZ A SHORTY! :D
If it was just attached to the underside of the skin most likely it's a fatty cyst. I've been thru that with other dogs and actually the only one that had to have one removed is Max. His grew to softball size, they also removed a small one that was under his front "armpit" in case it grew larger, it would interfere with walking.
She is such a pretty dog and lots of good thoughts for a good report. I know the waiting is so hard.
Best of luck to her. She is such a smart girl!
