I HAVE A ONE YEAR OLD MALE TRI-COLOR CORGI. OZZEE EATS PURINA PRO PLAN SELECTS: TURKEY AND BARELY. HE LOVES IT. I HAD HIM ON NATURAL BALANCE CHICKEN. HE DIDN'T SEEM TO LIKE THAT AS MUCH. HE ALSO EATS WET FOOD BECAUSE OZZEE IS A VERY PICKY EATER. DOES ANYONE ELSE HAVE A PICKY EATER?

My 2 corgi's have been eating food that I cook for them. My male had really bad stomach problems as a pup. So what we now do is cook brown rice, turkey meat, mixed vegetables, and add cooked beans. All natural. And as for treats they eat frozen broccoli, green beans, carrots and my female loves pears. To date, my vet tells us that they are very healthy.
My male dog will be 10 yrs old and my female 9. There has never ever been a day where they leave food in their plate because they dont like their food.
I know what you mean. I make homemade food for my senior corgi mix, because of his kidney failure. He knows when I am cooking it and he gets very excited. How many day's worth do you make at a time, or do you make it every day?
your corgi's are very cute! i cooked for my ozzee but he did NOT like it one bit, i tried every receipe i could find. he just isn't a big eater. neither was my female. she wouldn't eat for up to two days, i started puttin cottage cheese, yogurt etc on her food, and still nothing. i have thrown out so much food from her b/c it was soggy or what not. and now my 11mos old corgi is starting to do that. but he seems to like the purina pro plan hes on. major brownie points on taking the time to make your corgi's food. shows much love a devotion! =]
Our original corgi was the fussiest dog in the world, we had every brand of dog food in the pet shop on a sale or return basis! He never liked dry food, and the same is true of the 2 boys we have now. We have tried all kinds of food and they are now on Pedigree Chum, puppy food for Reggie and Chunks in gravy for Archie, we add small bite mixer to both foods. They get lots of chewy things just the same as Basil did, and when he was13, we were asked by the Vet what our secret was as he had wonderful perfect teeth for a dog of his age.
I assumed that being fussy was a corgi thing, as all 3 of ours are like that.
Freya loves Blue Buffalo puppy.
My dogs eat Blue Buffalo also.
Based on my research on this site and dogfoodanalysis.com I have decided to feed Tucker Wellness Super 5 Mix Chicken. I was told by the breeder that he is a picky eater but he seems to love his new food!
All of my corgis eat Premium Edge dog food. There is no corn in this food and there are several flavors with meat being the first ingredient. My dogs prefer the salmon and through experience I have seen what a difference it can make .My rescue corgis went from terrible coats to beautiful coats in a few months and I believe it was the dog food.
they are both on orijen, although i ran out and couldnt find it anywhere and fed them raw until i could drive to the next town to get some. they also had a bit of purina or another crappy brand like that, both were gassy, diareeha and puking. they don't handle grain well AT ALL. and i would never give it to them again even if i ran out. but neeka is picky, she wont eat chicken flavored food...it has to be fish.
Are you kidding me?
Corgis, are picky?

Chester eats anything and everything he gets his mouth on. lol. Since we got Chester at the wee age of 8 weeks, we have been feeding him Innova Kibbles mixed in w/ a little bit of food that the breeder had him on since he was younger. Slowly we transitioned him into eating the Kibbles.

As for treats, we give Chester carrots. When I leave for work, he gets his kong stuffed w/ a little peanut butter 3 baby carrots and an ice cube for him to work on.

And for the most part, that's his diet every day.

What do you think?
sounds good. although i found with peanut butter it makes me puppy drink a ton more water (obviously) my pup loves carrots, broccoli, cucumbers, well mostly all veggies. just don't give your baby grapes. its bad for their kidney's ive heard. your baby is very cute, btw! =]
Shippo is on Nature's Variety. Based on the size of my paycheck at the time, he is rotated between Prairie and Instinct.
