Corgi's are strong...what toys do you own that your dog does not destroy?

Hellooo! I am just looking for some ideas on this subject. My boyfriend thinks I am crazy because I have probably spent $250.00 on dog toys in the last 7 months for our maggie. I want things to keep her busy when we cannot play with her. Her favorite toys are balls, but not for when she plays by herself. We finally found a good, strong, rubber tug toy today, but I am wondering, what do your dogs like to play with? Every single stuffed toy she has had got destroyed with in 15 mins. She doesn't like kongs. She is now down to probably 10-12 toys, all balls with the exception of 2 rubber bones, 1 busy buddy, and one busy bone and her new rubber tug. Any thing your corgi's love?

I know how you feel.. Eddy gets so bored with plastic and rubber chewies. He loves fetching, bones/edible jaw-workers, and to rip out stuffing. 24" bully sticks, @ $11, last over a week for Eddy, which is great for us. He loves (cheap) GIANT bone-shaped rawhides that unravel into several thin pieces, which we throw away - he only likes unravelling them (each lasts about 4 days for us). Also, "no stuffing" furry squeaker toys of all types have worked great because he wants to endlessly search for the stuffing for hours. It has taken almost 3 months for him to remove the squeakers from the last "no stuffing" racoon toy we gave him.
We, as well as most Corgi owners going by this post, have the same problem- even rubber balls are no good as Potus ends up eating them (frustrating as he loves playing with balls!). He actually has a lot of plastic bottles- we put food like Good-O's (do you have them in the US?) in there- its a cheap dog food, granted, but its not his main food, just a "treat" food for his toys, and he spends all his time trying to get it out. He's really good with not eating the plastic, will just chew on the whole bottle and then after a while we throw it out (when its looking hopelessly sad) and give him another. We also take the plastic ring off the neck of the bottle because he LOVES to chew on that, so its a no no.

He also has an Orka Jack, which is for "power chewers", which you can stuff with food and they can chew on/push around with their noses. You can also throw it (buts its a little heavy so careful near fragile items!)
If you are looking for a ball for Potus that he cant chew I recommend you look at the planetdog website

They rate their toys and so far the only ones that have lasted with Lance are the ones that are rated 5 out of 5 chompers which are mainly balls. Lance is destructive with toys, but with the planetdog has done us wonders

The football had to have the laces removed from the ball as it was just rubber and Lance was able to chew away at that, so we just took it off for him and he is fine now. We have been shopping there for almost 4 years now. He just got a new football for christmas this past year and hasnt bother trying to chew off the laces, so I think he is growing up,yay!!!!
I love planet dog. Their home store and plant is just around the corner from where i live! I wish they would come up with a indestructible stuffed toy. lol maggie even destroyed one of the fire hose toys!
How cool you are right around the corner from the home store! :) That would be great if they could come up with an indestructible stuffed toy. I bought Lance a fire hose toy and it last about 2 days, whoo hoo, a whole two days, lol.
Hi Breanna,
We have a TON of toys for Chloe, but honestly, when she is keeping herself busy it is with her bones. She will randomly pick a toy or a ball from the pile and drop them at our feet to play. She LOVES tennis balls and any other sort of ball out there as well. She really doesn't "play" by herself. But the bones keep her busy and help with exercising the jaw so she ends up being more gentle with the toys. Don't get me wrong, she has pulled the brains out of some her stuffed animals as well, but when she does that, we just take away the toy and put her bone in front of her instead. Chloe was never good with any sort of tug rope... She tended to shred them very quickly, and you know when those strings "come out" it can be very dangerous! As a treat we have an actual basketball, regular size, just a cheap one. We will put it in the back yard and let her go crazy! She CANNOT destroy the basket ball. We tried with a soccer ball and a volley ball and she messed those up pretty bad. A normal size basket ball is great! If she has never played with a big ball like that, you will need to go outside as well and kick it around and show her that it is fun to play with even though it doesn't squeek!
hasn't destroyed anything made of rubber...only the squeak in it...which is a-okay w/me, he luvs the squeaking toys. the nylabone lasted for a long time, its only now looking kind of nubbish. ropes or stuffed things, forget about it.
If I want to play with different toys other than all the different types of balls we have, then I play fetch with stuffed toys and reward him for bringing it back, otherwise hes sneaking off trying to rip the new toy apart :O He also his very excited to play with a new toy, but he just cant play by himself. I get tired of throwing just a ball, lol
You can try raw hide, it is not exactly a toy, but it definately keeps my dogs busy and they only destroy things they are allowed to.
We avoid rope toys and stuffed toys since Finnigan not only destroys them but consumes them and gets sick. He loves stuffed animals though so we started buying him the stuffingless toys called Skinneeez and he loves them. He'll tear out the squeaker then all that's left is the stuffed animal "skin" which he will continue to play with and not eat. He won't eat the outside, it was just the stuffing that he swallowed in the past. We aldo give him Nylabones (the ones for strong chewers) which last him forever and he enjoys balls (real tennis balls, not the ones made for dogs as the skin comes off those too easily and he'll eat it), a Kong, Monster Mouth by Jolly Pets (like a Kong) and that's about it.

I have spent a fortune on dog toys for Blaze...I think this thread will give me some ideas on some others to try out...thanks everyone.

I also wasted money on "bobo" from PetSmart, didn't last 5 min. I mend the stuffed kong toys over and over, and the look very scary after they are missing a limb or have a lopsided face! Balls are a big favorite with Bogart. Try a basketball for outside play!
