I don't understand why my corgi likes to bark at the floor.

My corgi puppy, Mimi, she is only 2 months old. She is quite young but a very bold, and pretty stubborn puppy. She NEVER barks when she meet new people at all. But the strange thing is when she is relaxing, sometimes she just stands up , looks at the floor, then barks. I have no idea what she is barking at at all. Sometimes I try to stop her but she will keep barking more and more. Does anyone have this kind of experience with your corgi? Tell me!!

If it is hardwood or tile maybe she is seeing a shadow or something. Or maybe she is trying out her bark on something safe. I am use it is cute,,,,,,,,,,,,,we all have goofy corgi's at some point.
What can I cay? She's a corgi, and a tri!! Tri owners seem to agree that our tris bark more, and at the oddest things, than others
Yes.. we are true believers that tri's have a goofy, wild and crazy gene hidden in their make up. Every tri we know is a free spirit.
Tris are notorious barkers. Ella is a tri and she barks at nothing all the time. Once they get started they are hard to stop. Keep working with Mimi. A good way to teach her not to bark is to lightly hold her muzzle closed and tell her quiet each time she barks. Once she stops tell her "good quiet" and give her some affection. She'll catch on eventually. It took me a few months to get Ella trained to stop when I tell her quiet and even now she still woofles a little like she just can't help herself.
And I thought it was only my tri that barked like this...glad to know she's not the only one!
Corgis are herding dogs - often driven by sight and sound. Dogs can hear much better than human, their frequency range from 40 - 60000 Hz VS ours at 12 - 20000 Hz. As you already know, their unique ears are controlled by 18+ muscles, which allows them to rotate and tilt like a radar. My dogs can hear my wife's car before it pulls into our driveway, they get the most reaction from the high pitch sound from the brake pads off a garbage truck.
I used to have a german shepard/rottweiler mix that would bark and growl at the floor every time she farted. She would fart, then jump up and turn around and growl and bark over and over at the carpet, like it had reached up and grabbed her butt or something. It was hilarious.
I've always thought that puppies liked to "try out" their voice. Dogs have a range of barks, growls, woofs, and lucky Corgi owners get Corgis that "Arrroooo." The pups all have to master it all somehow so they can talk to us. We, of course, are nearly deaf by their standards, which is probably why they feel like they have to raise their voice for us. :-)
Keke is a tri and she used to bark like crazy when she was a puppy. But now she can be as quiet as a rabbit :) only a bark here n there when there were noises outside.
Any chance there's something making noises under the floor? Is your crawl space infested with raccoons? Mice under a slab? Opossums in the basement? Bats in her belfry?
Tracker will react to noises by having his ears pointed forward at the sound and a series of short, sharp barks. Is it like that?
