Ok, so woke up this morning and Ein had choked up a part of a bone. It was a small part of a  cow hoof. There was a little blood. Off and on for the next 30mins he threw up. It was bile. He is completely better now and is back to his old self. I am worried about what types of bones to give him though, to keep this from happening again. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Added bonus for the milk liners: No squeaker and it doesn't make noise on hard floors.
I've been told to never use smoked or cooked bones of any kind as they can splinter. We use raw usually beef bones. Just buy the soup bones at the supermarket (or if you're lucky enough to have a butcher, oh the possibilities are endless), throw them in the freezer and give it to your dog frozen. If there's enough meat on it, it's like a meal and they really do love the marrow inside. At the end of the day, just chuck it out if there are still bits of meat you're worried about spoiling. Otherwise, if he picks it all clean, I wouldn't worry too much about him having it the next day. It's cheap, and keeps their teeth pearly white, plus the minerals and things from the bones are amazing for them.
Our vet recommends Nylabones as they don't splinter and the tiny bits that the dogs chew off pass through the GI tract undigested w/out problem. You do have to watch when they get chewed down to small enough size that the dog could swallow it whole, though. We have never had a problem with them with either of our dogs. Our vet told us that dogs can break their teeth chewing on beef bones. We have to be careful about anything that Sophie can swallow/digest as she has seizures and certain things trigger her Ss.
My breeder has nylabones for her dogs and she's had three broken teeth from them! I'm not a fan, since I bit into one and felt like my teeth had broken too. Raw bones are soft enough that they can't break teeth!
Just thought I would pass on some information. For anyone who does pet therapy, or is thinking of doing it, the Delta Society no longer allows its pet partners to feed a raw protein diet, or raw bones etc as treats.

The Delta Society links to the studies on which they based the decision.

The move has been a bit, er, controversial, but there are some small preliminary studies showing that dogs fed raw food are at notably higher risk to shed certain pathogens in their feces and their saliva.

To the best of my knowledge, Therapy Dogs International does not have such restrictions.

Just something to consider, both for those who do therapy work and those whose dogs live with, or are in contact with, anyone who might have a weakened immune system.
It seems to me that all corgi's love squeeky toys...ahh must be a corgi thing.
Love the picture of Teddy by the way! I also appreciate everyone's input. I will definately have to research and look around for different types of bones.
