Traps Himself in a Room on Purpose. Brat.
My corgi does something weird, and I wondered if anyone else's dog does it:
He will go into a room and shut the door on himself. He then immediately barks so that we will let him out. I think he does it just because he knows that we will do it for him, and it makes his feel good about himself.
Anyone else's corgi do something like this?

HAHA! Smart little boogers!
The only things mine have done that's similar is Bear sometimes decides he wants to sleep under the bed. The only place he can get in and out is the end of the bed because of the low side rails on the sides. He'll get under there, go to sleep and then wake up and can't remember how to get out so he cries until I get up - usually about 2 am - and lift the bed so he can get out.

It sounds like progress. If they learn to understand the Doorknob Principle, it will change the lives of dogs and humans everywhere.
Yeah, Al does stuff like that too: he plays our daughter's Metallica CDs real loud, and makes us come turn it off.

Part of my Corgiriffic training has been -- Bertie shoves his toys under the couch where he can't reach them and he barks until I go get them for him. He's got me leaping to my feet by Bark #2, but he's sure with practice, I'll be on my feet when I see his mouth open for Bark #1. Then he's going to enter me in some sort of Owner Agility contest. Or so he says....

You've got it. The Owner Agility event will showcase overall speed, grace, and reaction time in several skills, including:
Feeding (starts from seated position in easy chair; owner must fill and present food bowls);
Tennis ball throwing;
Walk initiation (starts from seated position in easy chair; owner must dress for outdoors, assemble kit, collar, leash, and get out the door with corgi);
Feeding (starts from seated position in easy chair; owner must fill and present food bowls);
Petting;
"Come!" (starts from seated position in easy chair; owner must rise and answer summoning bark);
Feeding (starting from seated position in easy chair; owner must fill and present food bowls);
Combing;
Walking (with 2 leashed corgis, owner must negotiate a standard obstacle course of trees, fire hydrants, tables and chairs, moving children, other dogs, and traffic);
Feeding (starting from seated position in easy chair; owner must fill and present food bowls);
Leash detanglement (owner must detangle a standard leash knot);
Feeding (starting from seated position in easy chair; owner must fill and present food bowls);
Claw trimming;
Automobile loading (owner must load & unload 2 corgis from vehicle);
Feeding (starting from seated position in easy chair; owner must fill and present food bowls);
Poop removal (must pick up, bag, & tie a standard dog poop without getting any on hands);
Handwashing;
Feeding (starting from seated position in easy chair; owner must fill and present food bowls);
Freestyle tennis ball (owner must accurately and repeatedly throw tennis ball into defined, narrow retrieval zones without interrupting an activity of their choice, such as reading, conversation, playing piano, doing yoga or homework, etc.
Of course, the most demanding event will be -- vacuuming with corgi.

Mine won't be entering me in Claw trimming, that's for sure! Maybe there will be a seperate event for "treating while not actually achieving trimming...."

The couch thing makes me laugh!!Our Daughter and Son-in-law found that when They got new furniture,their old so sofa was removed and found a stash of toys up in the lining of it!!There were chewys,food and some socks!!He's a big,tall corgi at 35# and could still get up in that hole!!

Haha!! That is too funny!! I think he has you trained..:-)
Sage will dig all her toys into the blanket, then dig them back up again....over and over and over. She'll literally spend a half hour or more doing it. It's funny, but annoying when I have to re-make my bed every night and end up finding toys in all the blankets throughout the night. I think it's her own way of amusing herself.
