Hi! Im Izzy in Detroit, Mi. and I am looing for a corgi friend to be a forever home. I just moved to the city, and am alone, I know no one and ave no family out here. I work short hours, am home after 6-8 hours every day. I like to hike, walk and explore the city. I live in a pet friendly apartment, with a gated area, and am on the 4th floor with no elevator. I currently live with a gerbil and a hermit crab.

I have tried to adopt a few corgis from rescues and shelters and they keep promising me pets, saying I passed the adoption assesment and to come out and hours before I arrive the adopt them out to someone else. Im happy for the dogs but my heart is aching. Im hoping one of you guys can help me out :)

Thanks!

There is a really cute one on petfinder in the Detroit area named Paco.
Good luck...hope you find your forever friend soon:)

Hi....I sure hope you can find a friend too! Forever homes are precious.  I found "Lakeshore Corgi Rescue" in a search on the internet.  Have you tried them?

did you see the post further down the page about the corgi in a shelter in Northern Indiana? I don't know how far you're willing to drive, but that baby is adorable.
Lake Shore Corgi Rescue is a great rescue...they helped me and answered many questions I had before I rescued my 4 from Iowa! That was 2 years ago but I can't begin to tell you how informative they were:)
Don't know how far you are willing to travel, but there is a young male corgi in a Muncie, IN shelter and an older female corgi in Southern Indiana. I posted a new discussion on the female, but here is the ad for the male in Muncie, IN. If there is anything I can do to help out let me know, I am in central Indiana and have recently rescued 3 new corgi"s from different shelters, so keep trying and it will work out for you.

Good luck!  I am so happy that you are trying to adopt.  Keep at it and I'm sure your new best friend will fall right into your lap!

First of all, I'm sorry for your problems.  Most of everybody has or are about to leave Detroit and MI in general.  Everybody seems to be moving here to TN.  We had to almost beg someone to take our aunts house in Flint after she pasted away. Second my rescue attempts have not been that good either.  I know they sell like hot cakes around here.  Some " first time breeder" sold 6 this week @ $525 and they were ACA reg(whatever that is).
I quit. No adoption for me. last 3 corgi's I have tried to adopt, I pass the adoption applications, am litterly on my way to pick them up and they tell me they accidently adopted them out. This hurt my heart to much. :(
So sorry...what a bummer!

As I mentioned earlier this week, I have not had any "luck" and been looking since the first part of January.

TODAY, my hopes and dreams came true, I have a new boy Corgi.  I was worried it might never happen.  Two things I will share with you - telling other people whether they are your friends that love dogs, Facebook (that's how I found mine), humane societies, rescue groups and members on this site AND persistence.  I figured if I kept at it long enough even tho it hurt to be rejected/left out, eventually the system would work.  Call it law of averages, answer to prayers or whatever, my boy and I found each other:)  I wish you strength!!!

Congratulations.........he's a handsome boy.
