Recently there has been laws passed in Western Australia (and Australia in general i think) that
you are now not allowed to dock your dog's tail (not that i know why anyone would really...but thats
just my opinion)

I've been having a lot of ppl talk to me while i'm at the park and stuff, telling me this, and they always
ask me whether Hachi is naturally tailess... And i've always thought that she was! (apparently
its about a $3000 fine if they find out... )

So my question is...

Is it natural? or did my breeder dock her tail?

Some can be born naturally with no tails. Ella was born this way, she just has a little 1/2 inch nub thing. I'm not sure if there is a way to find out if a dog has been docked or not.
I've heard that some are born with a natural dock. The tailed corgis I've seen have full tails like Sidney's . There is another thread here where someone posted how you can tell; maybe that person will pop in here and explain it again. I'd search for you but I'm at work and I've got to skedaddle...for now!
Shameless! :o)

I think...maybe...I remember reading somewhere that corgis are born with white fur on the very tip of their tails. I would think that if it was docked, that patch of white fur would be gone. I know my Molly has a natural stub, and she's got the white tip on her bunny butt.

But I could be wrong!
If you go to my page you can see day old puppy tails...now I know some are born with the shorter tails but this pic will show you how most pups tails are! And yes they all had a white tip to their long tails!
omg so cute!!!
I have one with a natural dock. He was born with a stumpy tail that wags a lot! My other one was docked really short from the breeder. Corgis can be born with all different lengths of tail, anything from a full tail to a stump. In the US if a breeder breeds for show they dock really short. Usually if it is not docked you can tell by looking at the end of the tail. Our doberman has a slight bare spot where she was docked.
Oh ok.. yeh maybe my lil hachi was decapitated.... her breeder does have a lot of show dogs ...
hachi still has a VERY short lil stubb and u can still see her wag her butt... oh i wish she had a tail haha

thanks everyone for the reply!!

if u have stories of tail vs no tail keep them coming =D
