Corgi Lost Weight!!!!!
I am pleased to announce that Tenby has lost 6 pounds. Last year he weight 40 (he says he is big boned) and last week he was down to a very slimming 34 pounds. Because of shoulder problems he can't exercise much so it was mostly cutting down on the intake. He only complained every day and called the Humane Society weekly.

Congrats Tenby! Maybe he called Noodles and they complained to each other. I'm happy to say Noodles is down to 35 pounds and his vet didn't think he would drop below 38 pounds. It is hard work, but in the end I know both Tenby and Noodles are happier with their weight loss. Keep up the good work!

I wonder if the Humane Society gets more calls from starving corgis than any other breed? Maybe this is why some owners allow their corgis to get fat; they are afraid of having child services knock on the door. I think keeping my dogs slim is the hardest part of daily pet ownership. Congrats!

I agree keeping them slim is so hard, they stare, give you the it is only one little cookie and I am so weak look. They are so good with the poor me.....us humans have litte chance.

Congrats! It is so hard to have Corgis lose weight. It took mine a while to lose some too. We cut back on dog food, but added canned pumpkin (not the pumpkin pie filling, but just pumpkin) so it looks like she's getting what she used to get. She loves it!!

We did the same cut kibble and added green beans, pumpkin and switched to Charlie Bears for treats AND stop giving treats everytime he looked cute.........................like always!

Good for you!! I hate seeing so many fat corgis! It takes real will power to ignore the corgi "I am starving stare" but so necessary to maintain health.

Bev...........I think Tenby's 40 lb. weight surprised us. As his exercising ability slowed down we didn't cut his food back. Chepstow is so active he was handling that amount but Tenby just packed on the pounds. So shhhhhh.........just don't tell Tenby that Chepstow is actually getting more FOOD. Now that would start a Corgi War!
